Good - we loved that the hotel focuses on history and doesn’t have a cookie-cutter hotel vibe. The coffee shop/bar on site is nice too. The bar tenders were hustling, and even though there was a wait, we came away pleased.
Okay - our room was cold but when we called down and let them know, they brought up a heater. Good recovery by the staff.
Bad - We got there at 2:30 and they couldn’t check us in until 3. Okay that’s fine - we just chilled in the lobby. At 3 we went to the desk. The girl completely ignores us. We are officially invisible. She moves some papers. She grabs a pen and moves it to another desk. She goes to a pile of papers and staples them. What? A line is forming. What the heck? Another person comes out. Takes a bit to settle in. Then we get acknowledged. Name, details. Oh! Our room isn’t ready - they just started cleaning it - would we please wait 20 minutes? Sure, we’re chill people. We get it, stuff happens. 45 minutes later, the girl says it’s ready. We gather our luggage and take two steps to follow her, then a light goes off in her head - did we want two beds? There’s only one in the room she’s taking us to. Well, since we booked a room with two beds and there are three of us, ya we want two beds. Sit back down. Wait. Finally she brings us up - almost 2 hours after arriving (half hour of that is our fault). No apologies. Floors dirty. Cold. Hollering drunk people downstairs kept us up. All. Night. Long. Came tired, left tired.
