This is a good place to stay at a reasonable price. I only have a few minor complaints. There was not a chair or table in the room and that makes it difficult to use a laptop. Also, the air conditioning didn't quite cool off the room enough for me but I am a person who is almost always hot so most people would find it adequate.
The staff is friendly and helpful, though a few don't speak English well. All the reception desk personnel spoke excellent English.
The restaurant was good and the staff friendly.
"Incredible warmth and hospitality near major sites"
I can't say enough praise for the Niles. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Warm and very eager to assist us in every way. The hotel is well located for easy walks to the major sites. It was impeccably clean, beautifully furnished, comfortable bed, quiet, and had lovely breakfast on the roof with nice views. Both of the front desk managers we encountered during our stay were especially helpful in organizing a museum pass, a car to the airport, and making suggestions for getting around and things to see. The other staff were super friendly and also helpful. We booked through Expedia, but the hotel sent us a welcome email prior to our arrival with a personal greeting and travel tips.
This was a whole new level of gentle hospitality! Imagine apple tea and Turkish delight on a lovely tray at check in sitting in a beautiful lobby? Being welcomed by name when you arrive. A lovely tile bath and a roof deck with sea gulls banking over rooftops! It was our first tip to Istanbul and we loved it! We will definitely return. We booked the penthouse, which was reasonably priced and had an especially lovely view.
Have Niles arrange a car to pick you up at the airport rather than do a taxi!! It is cheaper, nicer, easier, and the hotel is on a quieter side street so better to not have a taxi driver hunting for it. We took taxi there and got the car when we left for airport and the car they arranged was 100 times better!! Niles will email you when you book -so easy to ask.
Everything about my stay at the Enderun met or exceeded my expectations. The hotel staff were accommodating and cheerful, the breakfast every morning was both delicious and appropriate to the place (Turkish), the room was beautiful, and the location near the Grand Bazaar and the tramline worked very well for me.
Do not stay at this hotel if you are looking for a western-style experience. Do stay if you both want to get the real flavor of Istanbul and a good experience. Recommended.
the hotel facilities, room, food and staff were all very good, the reception manager Devrim in particular who went out of their way to assist with any information we were looking for. Only slight issue at the beginning was the maintenance man who had seemed to get lost when we were trying to get the safe open and reset , after three attempts he was finally located for a two minute job.

Welcome to the Cara Hotel with 4 stars which provides a warm and comfortable environment with Byzantines and Ottoman Empires …More
The location of the hotel was excellent and all the main attractions were in walking distance (approximately 15 to 20 minutes). E.g the grand bazaar, Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi palace. The staff at the hotel were amazing; especially the hotel receptionists who were friendly, welcoming and always willing to help with any queries and offer advice on locations and places to visit. A real credit to the hotel! I would book this hotel again.
This hotel is located in the local's area very close the Grand Bazaar & tram stop plus all the local shops & bakeries. The hotel staff are very very nice & will go the extra mile to help you.
Breakfast was basic but enough to fill your stomach for your day ahead. The rooms are small but very clean. We had no problems with the shower, air conditioning etc.
would definitely stay here again
The Beyazit district is centered on Beyazit Square, formerly the Forum Tauri in Roman times. Remains of the forum are still on display. Also on the square is the main entrance gate to Istanbul University, and nearby is the Beyazit Gate, leading into the Grand Bazaar. The Grand Bazaar is one of the largest covered markets in the world, with more than 1,200 shops and as many as 400,000 daily visitors.
