Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to a range of sights and close to both the tram and metro.
The staff are friendly and efficient.
Breakfast is good and the terrace a nice treat.
No hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Difficult to find at first. Narrow street difficult for minibus from airport to reach. Had to drop us off on main street and we had to walk 5 mins but overall it was a very good location walking distance from all city attractions
We were staying only two days in Istanbul, so we wanted to be near all major attractions. The best thing about the hotel is its location: 10 or 15 minute walk to Hagya Sophia and Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, etc. Tram station only 2 blocks away.
Staff were really helpful and polite. Our room was spacious, and even had sea view. wifi Internet was excellent. Lots of TV channels from different countries. We decided to have dinner every night at hotel restaurant, which offered a wide selection of local and international menues. We didn´t trust ourselves to wander around the neighborhood after dawn (not that anyone had told us not to, but because there were not too many people walking around the narrow streets of this neighborhood and decided to stay safe at the hotel just in case).
Front desk staff helped us with tours, currency exchange and airport transfer. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other people.
The location of the hotel was excellent and all the main attractions were in walking distance (approximately 15 to 20 minutes). E.g the grand bazaar, Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi palace. The staff at the hotel were amazing; especially the hotel receptionists who were friendly, welcoming and always willing to help with any queries and offer advice on locations and places to visit. A real credit to the hotel! I would book this hotel again.
The hotel is very nicely situated, very close to grand bazar and the rest of the places for sight seeing. Great breakfast on the top floor from where you can see part of the city and sea. The cleanliness is not on its best. I would suggest it for short stay due to the good price and great location.
the hotel facilities, room, food and staff were all very good, the reception manager Devrim in particular who went out of their way to assist with any information we were looking for. Only slight issue at the beginning was the maintenance man who had seemed to get lost when we were trying to get the safe open and reset , after three attempts he was finally located for a two minute job.

Welcome to the Cara Hotel with 4 stars which provides a warm and comfortable environment with Byzantines and Ottoman Empires …More
The hotel is close to the Grand Bazaar (5 minutes, which does include a small hill to walk up-though given Istanbul's hills, it's not a bad one!). Breakfast was fine; it catered to all types of travelers, and as Americans who don't eat "sweets" for breakfast, we had no trouble getting enough. There were 3 of us, and our room was 601, on the top floor. Saying it was cramped is minimizing the situation, but I'm sure the room would be better if there weren't 3 twin beds in it. We did have a few issues with taxi drivers not being able to find it (and wouldn't ask for directions) but given the streets there, if you can get to the Grand Bazaar, you can walk to it. There are plenty of restaurants around so finding a place for lunch or dinner wasn't an issue. Large rooftop terrace, which was nice. It was easily within walking distance to major sites..
The Beyazit district is centered on Beyazit Square, formerly the Forum Tauri in Roman times. Remains of the forum are still on display. Also on the square is the main entrance gate to Istanbul University, and nearby is the Beyazit Gate, leading into the Grand Bazaar. The Grand Bazaar is one of the largest covered markets in the world, with more than 1,200 shops and as many as 400,000 daily visitors.
