Lovely little boutique hotel. Nice staff, no fuss, great breakfast. Bed was nice, shower pressure great, and the room was quiet (although I visited during the off season, so it might be noisier from the outside during the summer).

Large and clean room
The room was large and clean. The breakfast started after we left but they packed a meal for us in the fridge.

A Pleasant Hotel Experience
The hotel is clean. Staff are friendly and good communicators. Breakfast is above average. Overall a good experience of the tiny beautiful and historic city of Visby in a tiny beautiful hotel. I was there for a scientific conference and the location of the hotel was a plus.

Excellent stay in Visby
A truly lovely boutique hotel. Went for a holiday on Gotland and was very charmed by this hotel, which is light, airy and in a great location for exploring Visby. Breakfast was great, good WiFi, clean, good bathrooms, and though lightly staffed was generally very accommodating and helpful. This would be perfect for couples to get away.

Visby is a gem and so is this hotel. Stylish and welcoming small hotel in great location. Nice breakfast room, several rooms have balconies with water views, and best restaurant in town is just a few steps up the road. Josef was very helpful and spot on with recommendations. Best shower of the trip!

Lovely boutique hotel
This was the perfect hotel for our stay in Visby during the Medieval Festival. The hotel had modern comforts (key card, wifi, heated bathroom floors, elevator, and even AC which helped during this super hot summer) but was still filled with charming architectural features that match the town. The location was great and within walking distance to all the events, restaurants and an even shorter distance to the coast.

Perfect boutique hotel, heart of medieval Visby
The hotel was wonderful. Great morning breakfast buffet, charming decor, super comfortable bed, helpful staff, easy check in and great location in the middle of town and close to the water. Will definitely stay here again!

Excellent location within the city walls. The bike rental option enabled us to easily access the sea wall and larger area. The staff, breakfast and top notch service is exactly what we would expect. Bravo. We will recommend to our family coming to Gotland later this season.

Stayed at the hotel Strandporten for four nights we had room 305 on the top floor. This room has the buildings air conditioning unit directly above it with some duct work passing through the room. We had very little sleep because of the noise generated, the only options given to us by the management were free earplugs or change of room for $120.00 au per night. Visby is a great place to visit but stay clear of this hotel. cheers Harry

Great location, breakfast, and staff.
A fine little hotel. Very comfortable and convenient. My only comment is that the shades for blocking out light were not very good. There was none for the bathroom skylight and the ones for the window were 30 cm from the wall. So during the summer one gets full light early !! So eye shapes are a must. But do not let distract you from stay here.

Great little quaint spot
The Hotel is 5 min walk from the ferry. We had suites with a view of the water and a balcony. It was great to open the windows for fresh sea air. The Hotel was very nice.

Cancelled booking
They cancelled my booking saying they had reserved my room 2 years previously. They then offered me accommodation at their other accommodation which was effectively a youth hostel. They were very unprofessional and unhelpful. I would not recommend

Excellent hotel in convenient location
We would have no hesitation in recommending the Strandporten Hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. Good choice of meats, cheese, fruit, preserves, breads, teas, coffees and fruit juices for breakfast in a nice breakfast room. Well presented room with a nice comfortable bed. Quiet location that is convenient for the local shops and the old town inside the walls.

Very nice and central hotel. Rooms were a bit too small. The breakfast venue was so small, not all guests could fit at the same time. We had to sit outdoors even if the weather was quite cold because there weren't any space inside. Breakfast in the mornings could be longer. Very kind and helpful personnel.

Nice friendly hotel. Our room was located directly over a pub which made it noisy in the evening hours...quite unfortunate! Breakfast room was too smal for the 20 rooms in the hotel...at times guests would need to wait...or sit outside where it was quite chilly. The breakfast itself was very nice with a variety of offerings. The hotel is located near a beautiful park. The location is inside the city walls in a quieter part of a touristy village (quiet except for the pub! At night).

Happily recommend the hotel
Hotel is very central, the staff are extremely helpful, friendly, efficient and the room (incl bsthroom) clean and comfortable. The only thing that may improve it is the inclusion of an option room service/ dinner. However lots of cafe's very close by.

Loved Visby and Hotell Strandporten.
The hotel is beautifully located in Old Town Visby. It's a lovely location a short walk to the sea. The entire town is so walkable that we spent a lot of time shopping, eating, going to museums, never leaving the old town area. We chose the strandporten due to other travelers' reviews and were not disappointed. The staff is impeccable... Friendly. Helpful, and so personable. We loved them. The room was fairly small but typical for Scandinavia. The only downside was tricky parking.
