Booked the room becuse they advertised WiFi and Caboe TV and we really needed both . WiFI was horrible and cable TV didn’t even exist. Blaming myself for not checking reviews better beforehand because then I would have seen that already in 2021and 2022 hotel got bad reviews for just WiFi and cable . The girls that worked in the front desk was absolutely amazing and very sweet and helpful and helped us solve our issues the best they could being very creative. Cable TV doesn’t exist there even though they advertise it and WiFi seams to be a problem owners have no intention to solve . The hotel Should be very thankful for their amazing staff .

Very nice old hotel in great location, just outside main center of Visby - 5 mins walk to main square. Staff very friendly and good breakfast. As an old hotel it doesn’t have air conditioning and rooms can get hot when the weather is sunny.

250+ year old building excellently converted into a small 4 star hotel. Great location in the old city near many bars and restaurants. Breakfast choice is limited but of good quality. Only 4 working stations in the TV abd variable WiFi. 9 minutes walk from the ferry terminal.

Lovely old, historic building in a quiet setting inside the Visby ring wall, with a small park out front and close to everything. Nice, comfortable, atmospheric room and hearty breakfast spread in the morning. My main criticisms are that I couldn't get the promised cable TV channels to work and the wifi kept cutting out, which was important because I had some work to do. Would recommend Hotell Slottsbacken is price and connectivity aren't your main priorities.

A real gem in the heart of Visby
This is the second time we have stayed at this property and I would highly recommend it. Great location, comfortable rooms and fantastic staff who really go the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable as possible

Good location without being too close to Old Town. Nice size room and 2 sitting chairs. Very tiny bathroom; it could use better or brighter lighting and a makeup mirror. The staff was just wonderful and very helpful. Breakfast was very nice with a lot of choices.

Lugnt och trevligt hotell i gammal byggnad
Ett på alla sätt mycket trevligt litet hotell som dock kan kräva lite extra info för att njuta av till fullo. Huvudentrén är via ganska höga trappor vilket gör att man bör gå in via frukostrummet om man har tyngre väskor. För finns sedan en hiss. Prata med receptionen innan. Det finns inte luftkonditionering vilket gör att det c trots mycket grova stenväggar, kan bli lite varmt i rummen efter en värmeperiod. Det går dock utmärkt att vädra.

Relaxing on Gotland
We wanted some tranquility and relaxation after a busy few days katpyaking and wild camping in the Sankta Anna archipelago. The Hotel Slottsbacken gave us everything we wanted and a great location for exploring both Visby and Gotland.

Very Clean and Comfortable
Room was perfect for two people and it was clean which is what is most important to me. Location was only a few minutes away from city center. We didn’t drive anywhere since it was that close. Check in was super easy with the instructions they sent. Breakfast was amazing!!!

Very small room with little space and would not work for longer than a 1 night stay . The lift was broken on our visit too Staff were gracious and the breakfast was good with a nice range to choose from

We stayed 4 nights in Hotel Slottsbaken. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The Hotel is excellently located within the walls of the old town...close to everything within the old town and yet very easy to access by car...an ideal combination!

Fantastic small hotel
Fantastic small hotel on a historic island. GOTLAND -Visby - well located , walking distance to all restaurants, sights and shopping within the wall. Short walk from Ferry Terminal. Friendly and helpful Reception Staff. Excellent and spacious room with a lovely sitting area. Comfortable bed with all bathroom amenities. Plentiful and well presented breakfast located in the downstairs room. Overall a wonderful experience within the walls of Visby - highly recommended.

Charming historic hotel with modern comfort
We stayed here for 2 nights to explore the fabulous walled township of Old Visby. Perfect location. We walked everywhere. This hotel is a delight. The rooms are warm and light filled. We were right in the roof space and it was bright and sunny in our room. This is a classy restored hotel from 1773 beautifully decorated and it feels very special staying here. We definitely recommend it and hope to return one day as we fell in love with the old Visby town! Oh and super snuggly beds!

Stayed here for one night. Great location as it's close to all the historical locations. The rooms are modern and clean. Breakfast was also included. The only down side was their TV. There were only 2 working channels. Overall 3.5/5

charming old building in centre of old town
excellent friendly service. The manager went out of her way to contact me before arrival about security and access if I arrived late. She was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Comfortable room, the only drawback is that the bed is too big for the room. It would have been very cramped if 2 people had been there. Overall, an excellent experience and I can thoroughly recommend the hotel.
