Very dated and needs some work

Posted 26-Aug-2015
This hotel is clean but everything is very dated. The hot tub that is advertised is out of order. It should be priced lower as you could pay probably another $20/$30 and get into a new place.

Pros: Location
Cons: Towel and soap for everyone. Clean lobby carpet or other flooring.
Just needed an overnight sleep before continuing drive.

Good value for a budget accommodation.

Efficient. Friendly staff. If arriving after 10 pm, they appreciate a phone call in advance.

Large room. Older hotel that is showing it age. Beds were good. No frills but I would stay there again. Especially if it is a pit stop to Vancouver. A resonable price by Golden BC standards were things are outrageously priced. Paid way more at another hotel in town that was no better kept. Don't compare the prices to other towns.

Budget but nice

Posted 24-Aug-2015
Pros: OK
Cons: Needs an upgrade, still in the 1970s .
Location: Golden is a nice place to visit.
The title says it all, but a good location close to the highway and the local restaurants.

only place left that was available for our time

Posted 12-Aug-2015
Pros: location was good, right off the hiway
Cons: Hotel needs a complete renovation to bring it up to speed
Location: had a tim hortons with in walking distance
Staff was nice, but all amenities listed on line when we booked it were out of order...ice machine, pop machine, hot tub. Rooms had a funky smell, like mould and bleach mixed together. Room had a/c that worked ok but was very noisy when running. Room door locks very out dated. Open with key, but not self locking once opened, you had to push the .knob in and turn it to lock the door when you left the room. Have not seen that type of lock on a hotel or motel door for 20 years

Golden in July

Posted 31-Jul-2015
Pros: convenient to find
Cons: provide a coffee maker in the room
Location: it was easy to find, and there were lots of fast food places nearby
There was no coffeemaker in the room which is unusual for these days - most hotels have one. Even in the lobby there was no coffee or tea provided - just hot water, and the check-in clerk said she could give me one of her own tea bags - nice of her but the hotel should have provided that. We were happy to have a room on the main floor which is easier to take our suitcases etc in the room, but the room above us had VERY squeaky floors so we could hear them walking around up there from late at night to early in the morning. On the positive, the room was clean and we were glad the motel was set off of the busy highway.

Pay what you get.

Pros: clean.
Cons: Include hair-dryer & coffee machine.
Room is clean & comfortable. Staff is friendly. Amenities : ZERO. The long driving to Golden just isn't worth it.
