We offer a small, cozy B&B style lodge for people to come unwind and enjoy the quiet surroundings, with a TV and dining table in the common room for our guests to use at their leisure. With 3 outside light sources, we are sorry to hear the lighting was not adequate. We're sorry that our lodge wasn't a good fit for you, and do hope you enjoyed your time in Golden. Thank you for letting us know about the muffins, I will mention this to the baker and maybe we can get them switched out for a different batter. The cafe that we give you a voucher for coffee to is the only one in town that is open with seating. The others are all take out. Thanks again for supporting local tourism. Hello Ed, Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review of your stay. As we are a very small bed & breakfast type of lodge, we do not have certain amenities (such as a safe or fridges in the rooms) that larger hotel chains do. Covid has limited what we are able to offer, and that includes not being able to offer anything communal, such as a fridge or coffee station in the common room, and use of the hot tub (which, in non-Covid times, we do have). We are very sorry to hear that your breakfast wasn't up to standards. We do usually have a napkin and utensils in the bag, so I will be mentioning this to the staff for future reference. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. Since we are not able to offer a coffee bar at our location during Covid times, we have arranged with a local cafe for free coffees for our guests. It is in town, but since we are tucked away in a residential area away from the downtown core, it is the closest cafe. We sincerely hope that we will see you in the future when we are able to offer all the comforts and amenities that we usually do. Many thanks, Ali

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback; we do our best to provide a full breakfast spread as well as an atmosphere where, exactly as you said, you can enjoy your privacy or social options with other guests. The nights do tend to cool off but we offer fans in all the rooms should you still find it too warm to your liking. Come back and stay anytime!
