Older hotel with a great view

The lounge food is not prepared by a chef. The service was good. Complementary breakfast was buffet style and good as could be expected

Completely adequate hotel in Golden

Pros: Included buffet breakfast. Hotel desk staff ready and waiting for late arrival
Simple, basic hotel. Good buffet breakfast. Nothing special, but completely adequate.

Motel nice view

It was nice. Staff was great. Restaurant was good. The bathroom had patchwork in it. Needed to be finished.

Not what we expected

We decided to stay here as we have 4 kids that like to enjoy pool. A lot of drunk punks resting after the skiing or snow activities and using the slides. This made it terrible for us to stay in pool with kids. The groups were with beer and alcohol and were inside the pool while kids were trying to get some fun. No hotel staff was present to ask them not to get drunk in the pool. All in all we were here just because we thought kids can enjoy a waterslide and some pool fun. There are many other choices nearby for same price range. If you can, stay away from this hotel.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are deeply disappointed to read of your experience. We have a strict policy regarding no food or alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages in the pool area. We do not have a staff member physically present at the pool to monitor the premises at all times, but we do have surveillance in place and we also have a 24 hour front desk, wherein, if required, our front desk staff member may go over to the pool to resolve any such issues. We have signage all over that clearly specify the rules and regulations. We had an extremely busy weekend with a hockey team and tour bus staying with us. We were definitely not aware of this situation. We also rely greatly on guests to inform us if any such incident occurs so it can be taken care of right away. There is a phone in the pool area as well. We would like to get some more details and address this issue in the right manner. We hope you would not mind if we get in touch with you directly. We request you to treat this as an isolated incident and not as a reflection of our standards. Thanks & Regards!

Stay away

Cons: Hotel staff should monitor the pool and ask people not to get drunk in the pool.

Handy to the highway.

Nice place to stay. Needed a quick overnight place. The restaurant staff were stretched at night. Included breakfast was really good.

nice view, shame about the place

Overall I cannot recommend this hotel. There were problems with almost every aspect of our stay. We paid extra for a kitchenette due to medical needs, and checked in to find out none were available. Then the front desk said they had one in a pet friendly room, so we took that. The kitchenette was behind a locked door, which they didn't give us the key to. When they finally brought a key down, the little room was disappointing - dirty pots, plus no mugs, glasses or a kettle to make hot water. The paper cups provided did not hold up in the microwave, although they insisted they would. The room overall was in a similar state - burned out light bulbs, broken electrical plug (and there were only 2 to begin with) etc. The bathroom looked like it had been partially renovated - the bathtub & walls around the tub looked new, but the vent above it was completely rusted over and would not meet code in many cities. The pool was ok but the well-advertised hot tub was drained & looked like it hadn't been in service for some time. Pluses of this hotel - great view from the south-facing rooms (although ours was obscured by footprints on the window - I kid you not), and some hot breakfast items. Overall, I recommend you stay somewhere else - the Ramada in town is far better organized for about the same price.
