The Aspens

Posted 02-Apr-2017
Cons: It would have been nice to have more info on the check-in process ahead of time or at least provided in the Expedia booking.
Location: We love to stay on the hill when skiing and the Aspens was perfect for this.
Check in posed a bit of a challenge as you have to go to main hotel site (Glacier Hotel) to check-in if you don't receive a check-in email containing codes (which we didn't). Other than that, everything was fantastic. Condo was nice and clean, lots of linens available, spacious (there were 5 adults and we all fit very comfortably), quiet, kitchen set up well opening up options for cooking. Each room was temperature controlled which made it comfortable for everyone. It was very nice to be ski right to our deck. Had a bit of a climb up a hill in the AM but that got your blood pumping so not necessarily a bad thing. There are garages under the condos but the way the pillars are situated, nothing but Smart Cars would fit in there. However lots of spots to park out front of each condo. Nice clean hot tub on deck and after skiing we sat out there and still enjoyed the sun while soaking our tires muscles. We would definitely stay here again.

Kicking Horse Aspens #30

Posted 11-Mar-2017
Pros: Hot tub was great. Condo and deck had great mountain views.
Cons: Larger TV.
Location: It was our first time to Kicking Horse. Location does not have a lot of restaurants compared to other ski areas I have been too.
Overall, place was ok. Upon arrival we noticed that condo had a foul smell. Facilities rep brought us a can of air freshener. But this provided only temporary relief. We discovered that kitchen double sink had no drain trap (at least nothing we could see). So we reasoned that the odour could be smell of sewer coming from the sink drain. When we started keeping sink drain plugs installed (even filled sinks with water) smell slowly subsided. Other than that, it had the smallest TV I have seen in some time. Slightly bigger than a large computer screen. Hot tub was great. Also, place is not ski-in / ski-out. It was not advertised as such, I just thought it would be given that the entire area was not that large.

Not as described.

The hot tub was nice, but the furniture was in rough shape, we weren't given any dish soap or coffee filters and it certainly was not ski in ski out. We were told that there were two queen beds in one room and one in the other and that was not the case. Two queen beds would never fit in either room. The curtain rod in the bathroom was broken and the curtain just slid to the centre, getting everything wet. The unit was not cleaned very well before we checked in and there were previous renters clothes left behind.

Great property at Kicking Horse Mountain. Bonus was the hot tub and full kitchen. Awesome view. Also had a gas grill!

The condo unit we were in had some issues, tv was malfunctioning, smoke alarm was beeping intermittently, and blinds did not work properly. Also, large south facing windows and no air conditioning made it uncomfortably hot in the afternoon.

Condo nestled in the mountains

Posted 31-Aug-2015
ASPENS- In keeping with the surroundings, the facility is sparsely staffed. After you get around finding your keys and location of your rooms, a pleasing vista of mountain peaks and thick woods surrounds you. The units may be close to each other but with everyone sharing the common goal of enjoying a peaceful vacation away from the bustle, privacy is ensured. Indoor parking is available but not engineered. Upkeep of the units is fair - our unit had the venitian blinds stripped off but the unit was well equipped for meals and even a hidden closet with built in laundry. Overall, the clear starry night will comfort you that you made the right choice. We saw our first aurora after 8 years! Close to the kicking horse gondola which is also the gateway to some awesome trails and sights not to mention wintertime activities! A hot tub to return to after a tiring day! All in all a great value. Would definitely return!

Home away from home =heaven

These arre great homes away from home. We had all the things we needed to make our stay comfortable, cooking sleeping etc was great. Cozy cabin in beautiful scenery. My son was in a bike race and so the in room laundry helped tremendously with the dirty gear.
