The hotel is an excellent position but our room had no working air conditioning with the only way to control ventilation and temperature the window. It was also very noisy both inside and out. We therefore wouldn't stay again.

Average.Wouldnt recommend
Functional property - cheap, located in the city centre with discounted NCP parking next door, adequate breakfast spread. That’s about it in what works for the property. Oldish property with faded carpets, chaotic breakfast area and inoperable AC are just the start. The Housekeeping staff are clueless and downright rude when they attempted an apology - they cleaned up my room at 930 AM (including binning my toiletries and socks) well before the checkout time of 11 and then had the gall to tell me to not use the room with a shrug when I said ‘ I haven’t checked out yet!’ They apologised when I raised it with the staff manager and the housekeeping supervisor, but the sup was patronising and barely attempted an apology.

Excellent other than teething issues
I really like this hotel and would definitely stay again but we had some teething problems with the keys failing far too often to unlock the room doors. Also please put a fridge in the rooms! Other than that, it's a cracking location, parking is handy, the staff are lovely and the rooms tick every box.

Perfectly adequate. Great value. Great staff and very clean. Only small thing- the background music at breakfast was very intrusive and extremely ‘Tunney’ through the speakers( can’t believe I’ve left that in a review- but it’s true!)

The hotel is totally underwhelming, and is showing signs of wear tear. Numerous things in the room didn't work or were broken. The breakfast was poor and tasted like it was made from the cheapest ingredients available.

Best of the best at this location
This Holiday Inn Express was an excellent representative for the entire chain. It was clean, comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is always included and the dining area was attractive and inviting. This particular hotel gave us a five star experience.

Pretty poor stay
Not massively impressed with a first stay at this hotel. We were initially given a room, when we let ourselves in somebody else's luggage wa sin the room. This was resolved . Only one lift was working which, if you are on the 5th floor, during Cheltenham Literature festival can cause problems. The shower was low in power and the cooked breakfast option and quality was very poor. On the plus size the room and the hotel in general was very clean.

Cheap and average hotel. Clean, average rooms which are poorly organised. One chair under the TV. Breakfast very limited, sausage, bacon, scrambled egg and beans, that was it for hot breakfast. Toast available as well as cereals and pastries. Only one lift working as well.
