Good hotel close to the town and the racetrack

Posted 19-Apr-2016
We enjoyed our stay. It was great to look out over adjacent countryside from our room and from the bar terrace. Staff were helpful and friendly. It can be a bit of a treck from your room to the gym, bar and other facilities.

Nice hotel, careful with your room choice

Posted 14-Apr-2016
Pros: Steam room, pool and Sauna
Cons: Have the staff sleep in some of the rooms from time to time.
Nice hotel with a fairly good gym and spa but I had a very small single room, second floor, up some very tight stairs not really pleasant but worst of all was the loud extractor fans operating all night long, four in the morning with no sleep they sound like jet engines. The bitter was off in the bar, off as in not right, but the young bar man was too rushed to bother. Shame really because it could be such a nice place.

Excellent stay

Posted 11-Apr-2016
Pros: As above
Cons: Very little
Location: We attended a funeral in Cheltenham, so very little sightmseeing.
I couldn't believe the quality of the hotel for such a small amount of money. Very comfortable and clean. We only had 1 night but enjoyed a good nights sleep. We also had a view of the golf course and a small stream.

Tired hotel in need of a refurbishment

Posted 07-Apr-2016
No better than a travel lodge with outdated decor and unclean rooms. Mould on curtains and on shower ceiling. Blood stain on bathroom door. The hotel had a care home feel to it and would benefit from a complete modern refurbishment. Spa was ok but could also do with a modern makeover .. Disappointed with the stay as we felt it was over priced for the room we were in. Weren't even asked if we had enjoyed our stay upon departure.

Not 4 star standard

Posted 03-Apr-2016
Pros: Location was good for us and the grounds were relaxing.
Cons: Quality of & access to rooms. No lift to higher rooms. One of the firedoors did not shut. The hotel needs refurbishment. A wider dinner menu requiered
Location: We were there for a specific purpose and did not look around the area.
Convenient location with beautiful grounds. The hotel itself is tired and certainly some of the rooms do not come up to standard. When we went into our room it was freezing and it took the handyman 2 attempts to sort out the radiator. The restaurant was a disappointment as they only served 3 course meals and we wanted a main course + or - a sweet. Breakfast was good but on the first day there were not enough staff to keep the food topped up and the tables cleared.
