      Nothing like the pictures!

If true pictures had been put up I would not have booked this apartment! Met by the owner and shown to the parking space, the main door and surrounding frontage of these apartments is shabby looking, the main front door remained opened most of the time we where there even if we locked it we returned and it was open, we are then told the lift is not working (reliably informed by a resident it is often not working) 4th floor climb stairs after stairs with stained carpets and a really awful smell. Once at the apartment door there is a piece of badly cut carpet to wipe your feet on, upon entering the apartment you realise the carpet has been cut out of the lounge carpet which doesn’t even fit to the wall! The lounge is cold! That’s because you can see daylight around the windows! So the drafts where horrendous. One of the kitchen cupboard doors has been taped up with grey tape! The pillows on the bed where so flat and smelt of previous people the mattress needs replacing! A cheap uncomfortable two seater setee with four flat cushions and throws on was where you are supposed to relax! I really have not got a clue what is going on with this place, I have stayed in some fabulous places, modern bright and comfortable, this was my birthday treat from my husband, I wanted to go home 2 hours after getting there, we left early Sun morning as I could not face sleeping (didn’t sleep) in the bed again, should have left on the Mon so this place in fact cost a lot more! Owner said sorry to hear it’s not up to your high standards! Yes I have standards of course I do, but somewhere along the line standards have dropped in this place, it is so overly packed with cheap furniture, wall hangings etc yet the pictures show a nice modern bright place! Totally fooled me! Ruined my weekend. I am putting my truthful opinion of this place out there, obviously others can make their own minds up!

      4/5 Good

Cozy appartment, a warm welcome from Michael and a very good Welcome Pack. Lots to see in Gloucester and interesting countryside too.

        5/5 Excellent

          Homely, great location

On arrival we were met by Michael, who was both friendly and informative about the apartment and the area. The welcome pack left by Sharon was a lovely gesture as well as the bottle of bubbles for my Fiance's birthday was most appreciated. The apartment was lovely and clean and has everything you could need, with a lovely view across the docks and is located centrally for sightseeing on foot. Recommend a visit to the prison which is just 5 mins walk away. There are some lovely restaurants close by too, we went to Greek on the Docks and the Ship Inn, food and service at both were fantastic. We are planning to come back to Gloucester again for the Christmas markets and will definitely book Docks Penthouse again.
