Great Southern Killarney

Great Southern Killarney

8/10 Good
"Overall this is a wonderful hotel and I would stay again. The staff are wonderful, it’s in a perfect location and walkable to everything, and much of it is very beautiful. The food was excellent though at times service was very slow. Parking was thankfully quite easy. Spa treatments were top notch. The major con is that there is no air conditioning, and the three tiny fans they provided didn’t too much to cool the room. Thankfully it was only hot for the beginning of our stay. We had a family room which had a separate bunk bed room for our daughter which offered plenty of space. However, I do think we had the worst room in the entire hotel. The inside was beautiful but there was no view, and it’s above the kitchen to the restaurants so sometimes there was a sort of greasy smell. The grounds are beautiful and extensive with plenty of activities and places to relax and for children to play. However some items, such as the tennis courts, desperately need repair. That being said, we loved the property and would return as long as we had a different room."

"The view from the Lake Hotel is absolutely stunning, overlooking Lough Leane and the Killarney National park. There are beautiful hikes from the hotel such as to Torc waterfall and Muckross House nearby. The breakfast and dining options were exceptional and with that view every meal was an experience! All the staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. We will definitely return when we are back in Killarney again."
