Very central in Glastonbury, the room was very clean and fresh, it’s a pub/restaurant hotel so may not be for everyone as can get a bit loud on a Saturday night but it was perfect for our overnight stay in a perfect location with good food, good hospitality and a good band playing, will definitely stay there again

Fantastic location
People were very friendly, room was clean and had everything we needed. Bed was comfy, fantastic location and free parking. Only downside was loud music until 11pm (on Friday) - room vibrated it was so loud. But it did stop at exactly 11pm. Wouldn’t recommend if you have children or like an early night.

Not too deluxe!
The Market House Inn was a last minute booking for a one night stay . I booked a "Deluxe Double Room with ensuite" but feel that the description wasn't really accurate. The room was basic - furnished with a bed, two bedside tables, a chest of drawers and a clothes rack. There was a kettle on the floor and not much else. That seemed OK for one night but the bathroom was a different story - the shower was dirty and seemed not to have been cleaned. The shower had dirt on the tiles and there was a half used bottle of hotel shower gel on the shower floor. I was able to clean the unit relatively easily but I shouldn't have had too. In addition, there were no towels in the room and the staff member I queried this with mumbled that he wasn't sure if they had any more. Eventually I got a bath towel. A bath mat would have been helpful too as the shower unit did leak when used. The room was very noisy throughout the night and then the market started setting up in the car park opposite early in the morning (beware of leaving your car there overnight on market days!). The noise was made worse by the fact that the old crittle window would not close properly. Attention to a few details would make this a better place to stay but I think the "Deluxe" label would take rather a lot of work.

Give this one a miss!
My room was a staff room over the kitchen so hot and kitchen smells ... there was no on-suite bathroom and no breakfast - both of which I did not know the hotel did not offer. Decided not to speak to the manager after he was seen 'assaulting' another complaining customer - police turned up shortly afterwards!
