"Comfortable hotel close to Glasgow University"
Hotel is very comfortable - feels like home. Room design is excellent - traditional style, beautiful quality bed linen. Bathroom might seem small (with shower) but it's well planned.

"Center of Glasgow and hard to get out of bed"
I stayed in this hotel for New Years weekend of 2015/16 with my girlfriend. The room initially looks basic but when you look into it, its rather brilliant. Everything in the room is controlled by the bedside Ipad and the bed is huge, thinking it is a super king, and very comfortable. Highly recommend it to others.

"Glasgow City stay"
The hotel initially seems to be in a quiet area a bit out of the way. However, its under a 10 min walk to the central shopping district, and Sauchiehall street with bars, restaurants and shopping is 2 minutes away. One downside - if you like the window open at night, the local lads like to use the street as a racetrack. However, the windows are double glazed, so if they remain shut, it won't be a problem for you. The Ibis actually provide earplugs - it must be an ongoing problem for them! Aside from that, parking - its exorbitant on the street outside - a pound for 12 mins. If driving, you will need to get a carpark - the Ibis have a couple they recommend, so ask earlly, although between 6pm and 8am, street parking is free.

"Great modern hotel"
Staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived until we checked out. Room was large, free limited mini bar- snacks and refreshments, choice of 2 shower heads and free wi-fi. Small improvements would include wider TV channel choice and shower gel. Ate in the restaurant, Marco Pierre White, pricey but great quality.

Pocket Guide: Design Hotels in Glasgow

Scotland’s largest city is the birthplace of world-renowned artist, designer and architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Little wonder then that hotels with an eye for design are in such plentiful supply in Glasgow. Mackintosh’s graceful Art Nouveau designs can be found across the city, from venues like Glasgow School of Art or absorbing attractions like House for an Art Lover.

    Cutting Edge Facilities

Several hotels set themselves apart with cutting edge facilities and futuristic décor. Others boast historic buildings and iconic locations. Many hotels blend these elements to dramatic effect, contrasting bold prints and chic minimalism with period features or retro stylings.

    Glasgow: Scotland’s Style Capital

Pay a visit to the striking Riverside Museum on the banks of the River Clyde. Admire a floating velodrome and learn about Glasgow’s industrial heritage through the stories of the people who shaped it at this award-winning, landmark building.

Head back into the city centre for a bite to eat at the elegant Willow Tea Rooms, before you explore The Lighthouse, Mackintosh’s very first commission. The Lighthouse is home to the fascinating Macintosh Interpretation Centre, where you can learn more about Glasgow’s most famous son.
