"Great value hotel in Glasgow."
Spent two days at the argyle western hotel which is located in the university district of Glasgow. This neighbourhood is friendly with great pubs and resteraunts. Coffee shops are non-chain types with good coffee and great people watching. The manager went across the street on our first breakfast and bought and gave me a jar of peanut butter for my toast. Our room 105 was large and there was no street noise. It's a nice 45 minute walk downtown. I would recommend this location over staying downtown. Staff are like family. Coffee at breakfast could be improved. Food was large portions. Rob.

Relaxed, funky and very chill hotel. Room was on the small side and for hard to sleep with no window that opened (claustrophobic) but overall great place to stay. Excellent location, great staff and enjoyed the free movies

"Lovely small city centre hotel"
This hotel was lovely, it only has about 30 rooms so felt really homely. There are cupcakes, a fruit bowl, homemade icecream all available to help yourself to for free which was a lovely touch. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for city centre, right next to central station and a discounted multi-storey car park nearby. Great for our purpose of meeting friends for a meal and night out. The hotel also has a small lounge so we could all congregate there. Will definitely return.

"Beautiful deco"
Beautiful hotel, but completely inadequate clothes storage for four people - would not have been sufficient for one person. Lovely breakfast but items were not replenished and often nothing left. One member of staff definitely didn't really want to be there - shame.

Pocket Guide: Design Hotels in Glasgow

Scotland’s largest city is the birthplace of world-renowned artist, designer and architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Little wonder then that hotels with an eye for design are in such plentiful supply in Glasgow. Mackintosh’s graceful Art Nouveau designs can be found across the city, from venues like Glasgow School of Art or absorbing attractions like House for an Art Lover.

    Cutting Edge Facilities

Several hotels set themselves apart with cutting edge facilities and futuristic décor. Others boast historic buildings and iconic locations. Many hotels blend these elements to dramatic effect, contrasting bold prints and chic minimalism with period features or retro stylings.

    Glasgow: Scotland’s Style Capital

Pay a visit to the striking Riverside Museum on the banks of the River Clyde. Admire a floating velodrome and learn about Glasgow’s industrial heritage through the stories of the people who shaped it at this award-winning, landmark building.

Head back into the city centre for a bite to eat at the elegant Willow Tea Rooms, before you explore The Lighthouse, Mackintosh’s very first commission. The Lighthouse is home to the fascinating Macintosh Interpretation Centre, where you can learn more about Glasgow’s most famous son.
