"Big hotel convenient for the SECC"
The room was very nice. Good decor and very spacious. The bathroom was also good. The reason I'd be hesitant to return was the staff and the spa. The spa is dated, which is absolutely fine had it not also been completely filthy. When I told the staff their response was simply 'There are no female members of staff working in the spa today'. I said this was not an excuse and that they should ensure someone goes in regularly; I highly doubt the women's changing rooms had been cleaned that day given the state of them. The receptionist was quite dismissive and I was not very pleased. It really just tainted my stay with them. It was such as shame as the rooms are lovely, just avoid the spa if you do stay and don't expect the staff to be overly pleasant.

Very comfortable room, although the noise of the air conditioning unit (I think) outside the window was a bit irritating, lovely staff, ideal location. We will definitely stay there again next time we are in Glasgow, but next time we will ask for a room which looks out onto the square rather than onto the courtyard. The only thing that lets it down is the rather average breakfast - I ordered scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, the eggs (tasteless and watery) had been sitting on the hot counter for quite a while, then ladled onto the plate with the salmon and left there to chill nicely until one of the waitresses got round to bringing me the plate. the salmon was too salty, not very tender and heavily smoked - overall, not very nice. My husband was disappointed with the sausages, which looked very inviting but he said had very little flavour.

"Charming hotel"
Great staff and location very close to the train. Wonderful breakfast. Very clean and spacious room. Only downside was the bed was a little hard and the T.V. is small for its distance to the bed.

"Great location for Central Scotland"
Wonderful staff. The rooms are actually spread out in different buildings, and all have some strengths and weaknesses. Stayed in a double twin room which is showing some wear, but I was more disappointed in the tea service set not being very clean - I am pretty sure the staff "washes" the dishes in the room sink, rather than taking them to the dishwasher. Had to re-wash before I would use them. The other room was a single double above the restaurant. The noise of a Saturday night wedding reception was loud, but not too annoying, and I had been warned. The room was much nicer than the first room.

"Very accommodating, great location "
We arrived from the states around 10 am. They were able to get us into our room and a parking spot in the lot. When it was time to explore the city. They had good recommendations for spots to grab lunch. The location was great to go to Glasgow School of Art. Staff at the bar was very nice for nibbles that night and they were accommodating to our over sleeping the morning of check out. I would definitely stay here again when in Glasgow.

Pocket Guide: Conference Centre Hotels in Glasgow

Scotland’s largest and most spirited of cities plays host to conferences, exhibitions and iconic events all year round. The The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) leads the pack, but Glasgow has a broad spectrum of conference venues. With that in mind, if you are travelling here for a popular event or festival, it’s best to book your hotel well in advance .

The SECC has its own train station, so a wealth of comfortable city centre accommodation to suit all budgets is only a short train ride away in Glasgow city centre. But if you'd rather stay close to the action, the SECC complex also offers convenient on-site hotel options.

Whether you’re only in town for a conference, or you are planning to extend your stay to relax and explore, the Expedia search tool can help you browse the options and find the best hotel deals.

    Exploring Glasgow After Your Conference

The SECC, and by association its sister venue the Clyde Auditorium (affectionately known as ‘the Armadillo’), are iconic landmarks in their own right. Why not check out other emblematic attractions in your downtime? The eye-catching Riverside Museum and the Tall Ship at Riverside are both within walking distance of the conference centre and well worth discovering.

Alternatively, head into town for some post-conference entertainment, as you enjoy top class dining and take in a show at one of the city’s popular theatres like the King’s Theatre or the Citizens Theatre.
