"Lovely staff, great views, excellent position."
I stayed here for three nights, one of which was attending a concert in the nearby SECC Arena. The hotel is exceptionally well placed for that - just a couple of minutes walk in a pedestrianised area. Very handy when everyone else is waiting in the enormous queue for taxis afterwards! The reception staff were always ultra-helpful and very friendly. Restaurant staff I found less so - perhaps because they were busy, but a smile doesn't take long... I had breakfast at the hotel (ask for a discount voucher at reception if it's not included in your room rate) which was excellent. Lots of choice both hot and cold and it's served as a buffet, so you can fill up before the day ahead. My (basic double) room had a wonderful view down the river, and was clean and spacious. The wifi was free (despite what it said on the hotel description) and reasonably fast for a hotel. The room was very quiet despite the hotel being full. I used both the gym and the pool, both of which were clean and again the staff were very friendly and helpful. The gym's not huge but has all the basic equipment. The national cycle route runs right outside the hotel door, and there are bikes to hire near the Arena - perfect for a gentle ride into Glasgow or in the other direction (as far as Loch Lomond!), along the river front. Otherwise it's about a 30-35 minute walk or a short trip on the train - again, the station is right outside the Arena. Excellent experience. I will certainly stay again.

"Hotel is 20' from downtown"
Very expensive for what you get. The hotel is 20' from the attractions in Glasgow. It should be less expensive.

"Nice hotel in outskirts of Glasgow"
Hotel was a mix match of old and new. Overall, the hotel was pleasant, rooms clean and comfortable with extra space. Breakfast room like being in a conference room not a lot of character, very corporate atmosphere.

"convenient location and good value"
This is good choice for short stay in the large city, very good location besides the central train station and the river, as well as convenient shops/supermarkets nearby. The atmosphere is good and cleanness is also quite good.

Pocket Guide: Conference Centre Hotels in Glasgow

Scotland’s largest and most spirited of cities plays host to conferences, exhibitions and iconic events all year round. The The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) leads the pack, but Glasgow has a broad spectrum of conference venues. With that in mind, if you are travelling here for a popular event or festival, it’s best to book your hotel well in advance .

The SECC has its own train station, so a wealth of comfortable city centre accommodation to suit all budgets is only a short train ride away in Glasgow city centre. But if you'd rather stay close to the action, the SECC complex also offers convenient on-site hotel options.

Whether you’re only in town for a conference, or you are planning to extend your stay to relax and explore, the Expedia search tool can help you browse the options and find the best hotel deals.

    Exploring Glasgow After Your Conference

The SECC, and by association its sister venue the Clyde Auditorium (affectionately known as ‘the Armadillo’), are iconic landmarks in their own right. Why not check out other emblematic attractions in your downtime? The eye-catching Riverside Museum and the Tall Ship at Riverside are both within walking distance of the conference centre and well worth discovering.

Alternatively, head into town for some post-conference entertainment, as you enjoy top class dining and take in a show at one of the city’s popular theatres like the King’s Theatre or the Citizens Theatre.
