Staff are the best thing about this hotel. they are friendly, attentive and efficient. The Hotel itself is dated, showing sides of neglect (peeling wallpaper in room etc) and just tired. Its on an industrial estate with lovely views of an Ikea

The staff super nice and helpful. The train is just a couple of minutes walk away and takes you straight into town. The food and coffee were great. The esthetics of the hotel are on the older side but it was very clean so I did not mind. I think the only negative is the loop driving around to get to the hotel. The signs aren’t the greatest so you may miss it the first time. This is not the hotels fault though so nothing negative really to say about this place.

Standard. Entrance is good but rooms had several mosquitos and they are meant to be elimanatee before guests arrive. Instead we got told if had informed them they could have used treatmemt to try n get rid off them but was too late as we arrived past midnight for 1 night. No compensation given

Staff were great when we arrived at 10pm, checkin was smooth. The hotel has seen better days and just a bit run down tbh. Not much around the local area for breakfast so we opted for theirs, 19 euros per adult (pricey) but kids (i think under 11) are free... very good variety so we started the day well. Big open air parking but why do you make us pay 7 euros? we're staying the night! For one night, it's close to the beautiful ghent and reasonably priced but i wouldn't stay there for longer... needs a revamp!

I've stayed in this hotel a few times as it is convenient & have always found the staff friendly & approachable. The rooms are clean, quiet & air conditioned. They are, perhaps, beginning to show their age although I noticed that some rooms were having work done on them so may be being updated. As an English speaking traveller, my only real gripe is the lack of a decent English speaking TV channel (I think Al-Jazeera News was more or less the only choice). This may be a post-Brexit thing but some BBC channels, say, would be nice.

Not easy to access the hotel by public transport or by car. The roads to the hotel are not easy to understand even via sat navigators

Convenient stay!
Friendly staff and great location near tram station. Only takes 10 minutes to get to main train station, 25-30 mins to get to heart of Ghent. Quiet and safe, good breakfast!

Big room, with king sized bed. Staff was very friendly and breakfast had a decent selection and nice seating area in the centre of the hotel. All in all comfortable stay.

Unpleasant, outdated & expensive!
The very worst hotel I have stayed in for the cost. I paid 208euros without breakfast for a hotel that was so dated. Doesn’t feel like it has been decorated since 1980’s. Felt dirty and old fashioned. Nasty shower curtain, too hot and ridiculous price for a hugely outdated hotel. This is unacceptable from a major brand, in a significant city in 2023.

We booked a larger room and it was awesome. The staff was excellent. There is little in the immediate area but the hotel is a short walk to the bus and public transportation was effective.

Very Disappointing
Very disappointed & usually Holiday Inn is a good hotel! 1st there was a big queue to check in which took 30 mins. That couldn’t be helped but the check in girl said I had to pay €10 as check in parking was only for 20 mins? There was no mention either that you have to pay €10 day to park there? In my room we only had 2 power points which were far away from our beds? We would be out working all day so would need to charge our phones & laptops over night and in case of emergency I want my phone by my bed? So we had to rearrange the room When moving our beds the dust underneath was disgusting... the cleaner had obviously never hoovered under there! Very surprised as Holiday Inn is usually a good hotel.

Our secure car park has a barrier and camera surveillance, and we would like to believe that our rate is very competitive in comparison to others in the vicinity. We would like to remind you that the price is clearly indicated on the online booking site at the time of booking. In addition, our customers benefit from an advantageous rate which is 10.00€ during the weekends instead of 29€. Regarding the sockets in your room, we encourage our guests to let us know of any issues on-site so that we may find an immediate solution; we have extension cables at the reception. The rooms were tired and could do with a bit of an up date. Food was nice and bed was comfortable. There is an Ikea 400m away with their usual meatball food. There is nothing to do in the area around the hotel and if you are driving be very careful when driving around the “Loop” because if you miss your Turing you have to go around the “Loop” again!

Very Shabby !
This is not your regular Holiday Inn. The tariff is low to attract guests, so one is even willing to go off location from the center but the hotel itself is very disappointing. That it’s relatively older doesn’t justify lack of upkeep. It can still be maintained well. But the air con in my room was not working. When I called the hotel staff to report it , looked like they knew about the issue because they showed up with a replacement fan & said there wasn’t any maintenance available at that hour to fix the issue ( 10pm ) Electric kettle in the room wasn’t working either !

This property does not really qualify as a four star except that it’s a check mark to all the amenities needed to qualify for making it so. Not only is it in a physically run down condition it looks like it’s unable to maintain itself too. The air con in our room was not working. When we called the staff to report it , they came prepared with a fan, almost expecting it not to work. And reported that maintenance was unavailable at that hour ( 10pm) and no other room was vacant to shift us either. Of course the pricing is very cheap but you don’t want to say you get what you pay for to a Holiday Inn property. DISAPPOINTED !

Good, simple accommodation in a modern block. My room overlooked the central atrium where the restaurant and bar are. Car parking outside. Looks a long way out from the city centre but the hotel is located at the terminus of city tramline 1 which gets you right into the centre for €2 each way. A good stopover when travelling.

Could do better
This hotel was very good six years ago. The staff are still friendly, but the hotel has lost its way a little. Hard to put your finger on exactly what but i feel it is not as good as it used to be and we will now stay in the other holiday inn in ghent. Which seems to have got better and better.

It never mentioned to me in the past that we have to pay an additional charges when are booking in.Was asked to €3 each person for a city charge that everyone pays that while you are in Belgium.I slept at hotel in Brussels and was never been asked to pay any extra money so am demanding a full refund for €12 please thank you

It is clean nice big room and bath. But it's on this. 1 mile pkus loop where to enter or leave you have to go as round the loop at least once more if you miss your exot. They charge 10 to12 euros for parking and there arre no rrestsurants near by so you have to deal with the loop or pay (breakfast buffet 17.50 only option). Ill never stay here again. Meager fitness center.

The hotel was fine, but on arriving we had to pay City tax and 3 nights parking charge which was nearly 50 euros

It’s cheap, but that’s what you paid for
The usual holiday inn near an Expo. No lifts from parking, so need to carry up luggage. Rooms are decent. The staff very friendly. Towels are old and hard. Would probably crumble soon. All in all if you’re looking for just the night, this is okay. Don’t come with any other expectations.
