location is amazing. the lake is marvelous and the surroundings are great.Pool very beautiful SAUNA ONLY FOR NAKED PEOPLE. be aware. less positive, because I booked via Expedia/hotels.com I've been assigned a room far far away from the reception/restaurant/swimming pool. So far that I have to go by car. there is an indoor path but you have to walk and climb stair for 10 minutes. the parking is also far away to these and the propriety asks for 3EUR each night for parking. Some staff were not friendly to me,

I can understand that the way between the apartemets and our main building disturbs you. We inform our guests on our website and our confirmations that the apartements are in a separate building. Our hotelrooms a smaller than our apartments, but they are in our main bulding next to the restaurants and the swimming pool. Our fixed carpark charge is in reference to the fact that we have to keep the parking area all year around in and save and good standard. We'd love to go back and wish we could've stayed.
The hotel and facilities are lovely and well maintained. Any staff we spoke to were very helpful and kind. The reception staff speak very good English and all staff were very patient with me as I tried out my rusty German skills. It's a steep walk between the main hotel and apartments, but the pay off was great views from our balcony (and there is an indoor corridor with lifts if you really want to avoid the hill). The swimming pool is wonderful. The pool wasn't busy at all during our stay, so was really relaxing (lockers need a €1 coin). We really wish we'd left time to try out the other sports facilities and bowling alley, but spent most of our time out exploring the area. The hotel is a great base for days out with easy access to the road network. There are no supermarkets or shops nearby, so if you want food stop off in Bitburg en route, where there are several decent supermarkets. To be honest, the hotel restaurant, whilst really nice and obviously popular with guests, was a little expensive for us and the menu offered little vegetarian food. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment with a balcony, separate bedroom and bathroom. Everything was clean and the the kitchenette had all the basic equipment we needed for preparing simple meals. The hotel website gives very little information on facilities and could do with much more detail to help guests prepare for their stay. NOTE despite being advertised as offering free parking, the hotel charged €3 per day at checkout.

A very nice Christmas break.
This was our fourth stay over the last five years. Although we had stayed over an easter this was the first time we had availed ourselves of the festive activities, namely the Christmas Eve reception and buffet. The buffer was excellent and enjoyable. However the extra charge for the sekt reception I consider to be poor value for money.It was in excess of 20 Euros per person.For some Sekt,singing and alyhought a nice thought a rather cheap present on the dining tables.If we stay again I would book the buffet without the Sekt receptrion. Notwithstanding the above once again an enjoyable stay and I must make a mention of the Kinderclub staff Anka and Andreas who our great grandchildren love as well as all the activities offered. They even greeted the children by name having rememberd them from previous visits. What was disappointing was the absence of BBC World on the TV. The TV menu showed it but it was not there.

Wonderful hotel, stunning location.
The hotel is right on a beautiful reservoir, deep in the German countryside. After a smalll hiccup with the time the room was cleaned and ready (advertised check in is at 15:00 - room wasn’t ready until 16:30 - we were compensated with a later check out time), we found the room to be excellent, with a beautiful balcony view of the reservoir. The facilities are first class with an excellent bar and restaurant, a beautiful and big indoor swimming pool and sports centre. The car park is big with plenty of space. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, and the local area is beautiful. A walk around the reservoir is about 4.7km on a mixture of a tarmac path and woodland trails. Stunning. I will not hesitate to stay here again if I’m planning another trip to this area.

Nice family hotel with a wonderful lake view.
The location of the hotel is wonderful, at a small beautiful lake that our room had a view on. Room was comfortable, but a little outdated.Staff quite friendly. Restaurant is good, we had a nice meal on the terrace overlooking the lake. Breakfast is good, breakfast room was crowded though. This hotel is a really good option for people seeking relaxation in a beautiful environment.

Very good views; I recommend outdoor dining by the lake. Balcony door in room was damaged and did not open. Pool was also used by external guests and was crowded, but the spa area was very good and quiet.

Great for kids and touring base.
Have stayed here several times mainly because of the location in Germany and the onsite facilities for the the children. A tip, use the restaurant and not the bistro. The restaurant is not cheap but the food is really very good. The bistro served what according to the menu should have been very good typical german food. However the quality of the food was disapointing and for what was on offer did not offer good value for money.

The Dorint was a beautiful, prestigious resort. It is now completely run down! The holiday home neede complete renovation. The walls were dirty, spider webs everywhere, and the deck furniture outdated. Please invest in the resort and bring it back to its much deserved glory

Falling behind
This was our third visit and a little dissapointing as the accomodation needs updating.A lot of money seems to be spent on the hotel side and promotional material but the self catering appartments stay the same and are now seriously outdated. This is a shame as we really enjoy going there.

A country hotel at a small like with a pool etc. Unfortunately, I had no time to check out the three saunas and pool. Room was spacious and clean with a nice balcony. However, could do with an updating. Bathroom was comfortable. Nice breakfast but the restaurant in the evening had a small menu. Definitely a good hotel for a business night or two.

If you like quiet and old people you should go here. There is a lake but you cant swim in it. No electricity sockets by the bed to charge your phone.

The info provided by the hotel on the website is misleading-- while it states the room is in a separate building, it does not indicate that it will require four separate elevators and about a third of mile of walking to reach the main building. Despite what the description says, room service is not available in the separate building. Decor is from the 1970s and the property desperately needs to be refreshed. Walls are paper thin with bedroom windows opening to exterior corridor that guests use to access their rooms. Upon leaving, staff asked if I wanted to pay in Euro or dollar. I should have said Euro since the hotel offered a lower exchange rate than the open market. Poor choice on my part and what felt as though another example of nickel and diming guests.

Could have been nice...
The hotel itself was pretty good, as was the staff. My husband and I rented a family room with his parents, which consisted of a bedroom and two sofa beds. They were plenty comfortable, and we were able to get a nice breeze with the patio door open. I killed a few little bugs, which I thought came from outside, but it turns out they were bed bugs. There must have been quite a few of them because I had bites up and down both arms and on one leg. Four days later, they are extremely itchy and look like welts. Hopefully they will get this treated so that others don't have my experience. Would have been a great stay if not for the bugs.

I'd stay there again.
Clean, lovely place. The staff were pleasant and helpful and spoke a multitude of languages. The breakfast was a buffet style with both hot and cold options and plenty of everything really. The décor was a little dated, but I would certainly stay there again. The spa facilities were nice. I was surprised to have to pay for parking. That said it was only 3 Euros.

A reasonable stop over
This hotel has a pleasing location and friendly staff. The rooms are reasonably comfortable but (certainly in the apartment section) do not have air con, which makes them stuffy when the weather is hot. The pool and the buffet breakfast were excellent. Disappointingly we were turned away from the restaurant in the evening as we had not booked- not a good service for residents of the hotel!

Set in lovely forest on a lake.
Stayed in the apartment blocks but the furthest away from the facilities. A good 10 min walk hard for young ones but was at least through a series of corridor tunnels so was dry and warm. Our view out was overgrown and needed to be addressed. The apartment was ok but i felt it needed a little tlc as extremely aged and not in a nice way. It wasn't dirty but felt it. The buffet was over priced €28 each with minimal selection of food i would call it a self serve than buffet. The pool was nice enough a little cold and no gradient with one depth- deep! It was not really suitable for non swimmers or children learning. The setting was lovely! Its a nice hotel for a one night two at the most on the way to somewhere.

The family apartment was large and nicely decorated. We were told the apartment was facing the lake, but we could not see it due to the trees being too tall. The kitchenette needs to be updated, but served it's purpose.

This place was amazing! We have been all over Europe in 3.5 weeks and this was our best hotel! Indoor pool, tennis, squash and bowling! First time ever to have bowling in a hotel! Great spa and pool!!! The scenery here was so amazing as well!

The hotel is set in an absolutely beautiful location,a lovely hotel and the facilities are tremendous, if you like sport and outdoor pursuits or just relaxing this is the place to be. However there are a few little points that could improve it so much, the firstly Wasps if you have an allergic reaction to them stay well away, despite the hotel staffs best efforts it is virtually impossible to eat/drink anything sweet on the patio. Secondly the buffet bar you need to get in good time if you arrive late the food is not as good, although the staff did recognise this at checkout and provided a discount and lastly being a Brit we are used to a kettle in the room, despite asking three times we never received one. Nice hotel on the whole.
Nice hotel on the whole. Housekeeping could be improved as the room was not as clean as expected. The wifi is non existent. Other than that a comfortable stay to be honest.
