"Beautiful hotel in Genoa "
This is a stunning hotel. The rooms are large with lovely design touches that are both functional and beautiful. We enjoyed the walk into Genoa too. Breakfasts are delicious with a range of foods and fresh coffee.

"Good value ans comfortable hotel in Genoa"
I had booked party of 12 from our Italian class for a trip Genoa. I tried to book all 12 into the 5 star Grand Hotel Savoia next door, but Expedia could only book 8 there so I booked the remaining 4 into the 4 star Continental next door. I stayed in the Continental, so cannot comment on the Grand Hotel savoia. The two are owned by the same company, are next door to one another and connected by an internal corridor. It is possible to use the facilities in both. We met up in the public areas of the Grand Hotel Savoia, and we took breakfast there on one day. The Continental is definitely the poor relation, and the public areas, breakfast room, and indeed breakfast were not as good as next door, but nevertheless very good, but on the other hand it was cheaper. The breakfast room becomes a trattoria in the evening whilst the breakfast room in the GHS becomes a more upmarket, and again, more expensive, restaurant. We had a meal in the tratorria one evening, and it was good and not expensive. Where the hotel excels is in the rooms which are spacious and equipped to a high specification. All the staff were friendly and helpful. It is well located for the station opposite and I guess for the cruise ships, but less accessible for the sights of Genoa, although all are walkable.

"Great location, beautiful views!"
As the name promises, this hotel offers great views as it sits perched up over looking the main train station. Room was clean and charming, the bathroom was a good size and spacious (however shower was pretty small). Double windows opened to overlook the tramlines and the beautiful skyline of painted houses. Breakfast was great, and the terrace was accessible and offered breathtaking views of Genoa. Would definitely stay here again.

"Great location. Old and charming"
Staff was fantastic. Has an old time hotel feel with bell hop and a cozy bar downstairs. Fantastic breakfast for 4€. Bed a little hard. We had a great stay. It is right in front of train station with hop on hop off bus right at the front door!

"Nice new hotel"
Lovely and clean as a fairly new hotel . Quiet and amazing views to the port and water . Across road from coop and McDonald's if you feel the need . Taxi is around 29 euros from airport and very fast . Bus stop outside to go to town or 5 min walk to rail . Walking to town is about 20 mins . Recommend eating in town as only a couple of places in area . Lots to choose from in town . Rail only 5 mins ride at 1.50 euro . If arrive on a Sunday town is very quiet but not many shops open . Excellent hotel

"on the edge of the old town"
over looking one of the many narrow walkways in the old town, the area below with its shops and buzz are a great introduction to life in the city(but you could have an early call, when some of the shutters go up)a very good location for most things,it is hard to get your bearings at first.

Things to Do from Your Luxury Hotel in Genoa

Take advantage of your hotel's fabulous location by exploring Genoa's top sightseeing spots. The port area, Porto Antico, is the place to go for upmarket bars, gelato shops and waterfront restaurants.

While you’re at the old port, make sure you visit Italy's biggest aquarium, with shark, dolphin and turtle tanks. Learn about Genoa's seafaring history at maritime museum, Galata Museum del Mare, where stand-out exhibits include a reconstruction of a 17th-century galley ship and a real submarine, as well as a huge section dedicated to Genoa-born navigator Christopher Columbus.

Live the High Life in Genoa

Soak up sweeping views of the city and harbour from star architect Renzo Piano’s Bigo Lift, a panoramic elevator that will lift you high above the port. And if you're in the historic quarter, visit Palazzo Rosso's rooftop terrace for a glass of prosecco and fabulous views over Genoa’s old buildings.

Enjoy a dose of culture at the palaces that line UNESCO-listed boulevard, Via Garibaldi. See paintings by Rubens and Caravaggio at Palazzo Bianco, and see one of Paganini's violins at Palazzo Tursi.

Ask your luxury hotel to arrange seats at the Teatro Carlo Felice, Genoa’s main opera house, which also has ballet and contemporary performances during the season.
