Excellent alternative to Gatwick Airport Hotels

Short drive from Gatwick- beautiful and peaceful location with good restaurant and helpful staff. Building a spa complex which will only improve the experience.

Lovely setting in beautiful part of Sussex.

Everything was so perfect, meal in The Pass breakfast and accommodation. The staff were always on hand and very polite nothing was too much trouble.

Wonderful

Was truly wonderful, the room was amazing, as was the food and staff. It was a special occasion, my partner got a couple of little extra bits, a little cake with a candle. A card. Really lovely.

Standards slipping?

Stayed here many times, indeed got married here. No one made us aware of the significant construction work going on, on the site. Woke us both mornings. Room had wires exposed in the bathroom and living area. As usual I had to tune the television and DVD. Loud family at dinner, the sister of the bride insisted on having her phone turned on loud and kept answering it. I hope the hotel isn't scrimping in other areas to pay for the new spa...

Up on the Downs

Just one night in the countryside with the golden retriever while our teenage daughter was away with her big sister in London. There's a hefty deep clean charge for the dog but the hotel provided her with bedding, bowls and a toy. Best of all was the back door which enabled us to take her straight into the grounds without going back through the hotel. Service was friendly and helpful from arrival to departure and included the immediate provision of toothbrushes when we realised that we had all the dog's necessities but not necessarily our own.

Most comfortable bed ever!

Unfortunately i was unwell during our stay and was room-bound.so didnt get to experience all it had to offer.however,if i had to spend 20 hours in bed again i would definately choose that 1! Beautiful room,luxurious bed,gorgeous big bath!

Good hotel, few shortcomings

Pros: Great position, in the summer with all the grounds even better.
Cons: See my comment about evening dining
Location: Horsham & Brighton pleasant to visit. Lots of cycling possible in the grounds and the area. A number of well known National Trust places around.
A good standard, although attention to detail maintenance let it down, for example the shower dripped continuously and the grouting in the bathroom was dirty in places and missing in others. Staff very helpful, pleasant and efficient. I was surprised that they were only able to offer a table for a resident in the dining room at 9-00pm, too late for me and the bar food although good was expensive for what was on offer. Early evening on a Saturday the bar staff were almost non-exisitent, and when they appeared were slow to serve, although this improved after 6-00pm. The booking system with expedia does not allow a choice of B&B or Half board, which we would have preferred.
