If we do any vacationing in Gatlinburg, we won't even bother looking anywhere else." \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* After losing the original cabin in the 2016 wildfire, we decided to build the best custom home we could on the best view lot in Gatlinburg. The NEW Sensational View opened August 8, 2018\. The house has 3,061 square feet, five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and sleeps up to 23, with 19 guests in bedrooms and two sofa beds in the common areas. The first floor and specifically the "Bear" bedroom designed to be very accessible. Many of our past guests have been interested in easy access for elderly family members (we have elderly family members too). This is important to us! Entering the cabin requires going up two steps. Then the whole first floor (inside and deck) is flat. Bedroom 2 has a shower with a bench and three grab rails, plus a shower head you can mount or hold in hand. There is also a grab bar next to the toilet. (All toilets are chair height.) The first floor has a great room including the kitchen, dining room, and family room. Our housekeepers crafted another beautiful 12 foot dining table just like we had in the last house. The whole room has views toward Gatlinburg and the mountains with a wall of windows. This room has a 70" TV with a soundbar. All five bedrooms have attached bathrooms. The master suite on the first floor has a large bathroom with marble shower and separate tub. It has great views and direct access to the deck and hot tub. This bedroom has a 49" TV. (All 4 bedrooms on floors 1 and 2 have TVs ranging from 32" to 49" depending on room size.) We bought a gorgeous Marquis Euphoria hot tub, which beats any hot tub we've ever seen at a rental. It is right outside the master bedroom. The second floor has a large game room, designed as a balcony overlooking the great room and the view. It features a pool table, foosball table, cocktail arcade, poker table and 65" TV. Bedrooms 3 (four guests and big views) and 4 (seven guests) are on opposite sides of the game room. These bedrooms have shower/tub combos. A wraparound deck connects the bedrooms outside and offers not only amazing views of the city and mountains but also a neat perspective looking back into the house. (Thanks to our architect for convincing us this was a good idea. We were skeptical but the first time up there blew us away. it's awesome!) Bedroom five is the penthouse - a bedroom/bathroom suite with a king bed and sleep sofa, wet bar, refrigerator, microwave, and seating area perched high above everything. It has a wall of windows 16 ft wide for the best panoramic view of Gatlinburg and the Smokies anywhere. If there is a better suite in town, we would seriously like to see it! This cabin has it all! would highly recommend for the location and view, can park 4 cars in the driveway easily, hot tub is great, and beds were comfy. Had some cleanliness concerns mostly in the 3rd floor master, general dustiness in corners or windows including dead bugs. The kitchen is fairly equipped with dishes and utensils to make cooking easy. Our only recommendation is to add dish rags/towels and scissors. Nonetheless, we truly appreciated the detail and thought that went into stocking the kitchen with the necessary cookware and tupperware! The rooms/bathrooms were nice and tidy and the penthouse was stunning! Overall we had plenty of towels for to use for the shower and hot tub. The view is amazing...from practically every room. The property is up so high, we joked about how close to God we were. Not only that, we saw our first bear on the property shortly after arriving and had a few more sightings during our stay. The location is great too! We were close (less than 10 minutes) to the local grocery store, aquarium, shops and 20ish minutes (mostly due to traffic) away from the national park, Wonderworks, and the island in Pigeon Forge. The view is everything they say it is and more and the location could not be better!! Close enough to get to downtown in minutes but when you are back at the house you feel like you are miles away!! The condition of the house was great; as we've come to expect. To add to our enjoyment, we observed bears in the area leading to the house and were pleasantly surprised by multiple visits from papa, mama and their babies. The house was perfect for our family. The fact that the majority of the living areas and 2 bedrooms were on the first floor was great for our parents who have accessibility issues. The game room on the second floor was enjoyed by the kids in our group. The third floor penthouse bedroom had amazing views. All rooms were spacious. The house was a short drive to Gatlinburg proper and very convenient. When they say 24 hour view they mean it . I honestly do not believe there’s a better view from any other cabin than this one here. Sensational View is simply put the most breathtakingly amazing view I've ever experienced in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge in the decades I've been vacationing here. The house was clean, warm, and inviting with high end finishes. Our gracious hosts thought of everything! The communication showed they truly cared about our experience while in their home. We couldn't think of anything they could have added or changed that would have made our experience any better! We had to cut our visit short because of medical reasons but have already shared with the rest of our family that this is where we want to return...again and again. This is the most amazing view you can imagine! Communication with host was great! Be careful of the driveway. Stay as far left close to house when turning in. Some of us found it better to pull past it then back up. There are black bear here. Everyday. Do keep all doors locked in house including decks. Keep any scented items of any kind and food out of vehicles including coolers anywhere other than inside house. Keep car doors locked.They can open doors.
