Alpine Bear Retreat is nestled in the heart of Chalet Village. Conveniently located to downtown Gatlinburg, Ober Mountain Ski Resort, Gatlinburg Bypass and Dollywood. Your days will be filled with endless adventures and boundless excitement. Enjoy this charming mountain retreat, sleep six with 2-bedrooms, 2-bathrooms, a queen sofa sleeper and a huge balcony, offering comfortable and plush seating for everyone. Spend your evenings grilling with the family or relaxing and enjoy the peaceful serenity of the mountains. Guests often spot bears and other wildlife frolicking out back. This is definitely a preferred hang out area! Upper Alpine Clubhouse and pools are just a short walk away! Great prices and outstanding 5-star reviews! Other Things to Note Please be aware, we are in the mountains, we have bears! While they seem cute and friendly, do not approach the bears, call bears to you, feed the bears, and do not leave trash out. If you are eating on the balcony and bears approach, please take all your food, drinks, and accessories and go indoors. Bears can and will climb onto the balcony for your food, even if you are out there. Do not leave food in your vehicles, (not even Happy Meal crumbs 🥰) bears can open doors and will get into your vehicle and may cause damages. Bears are often in our area; we are very close to the National Park! Keep your doors locked and windows up at all times! As long as you leave the bears alone, they will normally leave you alone and keep to themselves. Wi-Fi/cable can be unreliable as we are in the mountains. If an outage occurs there is nothing we can do until the cable company is able to fix the issue. Smoking is prohibited inside the condo and on the back balcony. If you smoke inside, you will be charged an additional cleaning fee. You are welcome to smoke on the front covered patio. Close the door securely so smoke does not enter the condo. You will also be responsible for proper disposal of cigarette butts. Do not “flick” cigarettes on the ground. She also went over and beyond for us. The condo is close to many attractions in town. We loved being in Gatlinburg close to everything such as the attractions, good places to eat, and lots of sightseeing especially to waterfalls/mountains, but being able to take the Gatlinburg bypass to the condo to avoid the traffic in the area was the best. Beds were comfy and we had everything we needed. Our teenager loved that he could walk to the resort and snowboard for hours. We were there on a holiday weekend and the traffic on the mountain does get a little crazy, so walking was actually easier at some points. It was not supposed to snow when we were there but we got lucky and our kids got to see snow falling for the first time! All in all a great little weekend away. This was the perfect get away for my family. The condo was modern and clean with plenty of room for 6 people with every amenity needed. I arrived in town early and Jennifer was able to make sure it was cleaned and ready for me earlier than the check in time. She was a wonderful host from the minute I made the reservation. She was available by text or phone call within minutes of me asking a question. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck and being ground level especially when the bears came out to play or just cruise through the property. Even though we did visit other areas to see the bears, there really isn't a need to do that. ##### Tom L. We loved the decor and attention to detail throughout the property. It is located in the upper portion of the mountain which was a bit nerve wrecking driving up, but it was worth the drive! The peace and quiet in this location was awesome! Jennifer was hands down one of the best host I have worked with. Our experience was great overall. My only downfall is the close proximity to neighbors, but this is not a deal breaker as the patios are very spacious. We enjoyed our stay, and I need details on the mattress in the master bedroom! My husband and I just stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time! Beautifully decorated condo with a great deck out back! There are black bears roaming the area, which I was hoping to see first hand. It took until the final evening but I finally got to see the bears!! The host was wonderful and answered all my questions. Full kitchen, coffee maker (which was a must!), washer and dryer, towels and wi-fi. All you need is your clothes and toiletries! This is the cleanest, cutest, well-kept place we have stayed in since coming to Gatlinburg! There is not even a single cobweb to be found! It is very well equipped with everything you need such as plenty of blankets, pillows, dishes, etc. Jennifer has been an absolute dream dealing with. She has kept us well informed with any questions we had, booking, check-in etc. She has messaged us several times to make sure we had everything we need. You can tell that she takes pride in her place here and that is great! If I had to list a con, I’d say there is no view. We knew this and a view was not important to us this trip. We enjoyed a week at the condo, which is just perfection! The location is great, beautiful views all the way up and at the condo itself. We have rented many vacation homes, but hosts Brien and Jennifer have furnished this home so well for the six guest capacity. The dining room table seats six, the living room seats six, and the patio seats six. This is such a well thought out and impactful plus. We spent hours on the patio every day watching for bears. While we did not see any during our stay, I can’t say enough about the size of the patio and the blissful comfort of the furniture out there. I, like many, have a high stress job, and the fact I never took my work laptop out of the bag says it all. I was so relaxed and content, I got to truly unwind and enjoy the Smoky Mountain peace. The most difficult part of our stay was packing the car to go. While we were sad to leave, we are already planning our next trip to this delightful condo. It truly is a retreat! ##### Audra E.
