Close to Metro

Posted 19-Sep-2017
Pros: Modern, clean, roomy for France, bathroom was fair size with a tub/shower.
Cons: Lots of noise from street, they do supply ear plugs.
Location: Just across from Metro. Grocery store around the corner. Felt safe in the area but did not like it.
Nice hotel but didn't like the area. Close to Gare du Nord and Gare l'Est.

Nice hotel close to Gare du Nord train station.

Posted 14-Sep-2017
Pros: Proximity to train station
Cons: Mat for the bath to prevent slipping
Location: About 15 or 20 minutes by metro to the main attractions, such as the Arc du triumph, Eiffel Tour and Notre Dame Cathedral.
This hotel is approximately 10 minutes walk from the main train station where the Eurostar stops. It is also across the road from the Louis Blanc metro station, making it easy to get around. The hotel is nice and the rooms were comfortable. The shower is over the bath and there is no rubber mat to stop slipping in the bath. The bath side is quite high so it is a bit scary getting out of the shower as there was nothing to hold on to except the shower curtain. Once the traffic calmed down, it wasn't noisy although ear plugs were provided. Reception staff were pleasant and spoke English. There are a number of places to eat nearby. If these are too expensive, there is a supermarket a few minutes walk away.

Nice hotel, lovely staff, close to the Metro.

The hotel was easy to find from the train station and staff were welcoming and friendly on arrival and throughout our stay. We were pleased they spoke English (which was a plus). Our room was comfortable enough, was small (but all places are in Paris) and had all that we needed. The shower was good and the TV had a variety of channels, although the English subtitles didn't work. We enjoyed the French shows non-the-less. We had no issues during our stay. However, we found the room needed the carpets replacing. They weren't dirty or smelly, but just looked old and tatty, which diminished the overal comfort and visual appeal of the room.

Convenient to Public transportation

Posted 31-Jul-2017
Pros: There was a vending machine in the lobby. The lobby was beautifully decorated.
Cons: The smell in the hallway and the room. New carpeting in the room.
Location: The location was directly across from the train station. There was not much to do in the area. There were many produce markets and small supermarkets.
The check in was excellent, the clerk had our card waiting when we arrived. The room was very small. The carpet needed to be changed I was not comfortable walking on it without my shoes. There were no outlets by the bed which is essential for smart phones. The bathroom had that ridiculous half glass partition that I notice that most hotels now have which does not prevent the water from getting on the floor when you take a shower. There was no mini bar or refrigerator. The room d├ęcor was pretty but the room and the corridors had a moldy damp smell that was prevalent throughout my entire stay.

LOVELY HOTEL IDEALLY LOCATED.

This is my 4th stay at Hotel Louis Blanc since I use it when visiting the French Open Tennis. I love this hotel and will stay again since it is ideally located near the metro and Gare du Nord train station. Also the rooms/hotel are in very good decorative order. The rooms are average size for Paris but ideal for me. The only items the room lacks are a fridge and microwave, and more English channels on the tv. However I will definitely stay again when visiting Paris.

Room booking not fulfilled

Posted 02-Jun-2017
Upon making the reservation, I selected a twin room, an option that was presented to me when booking. When I got to the hotel, my friend and I were told that they didn't have a twin room, and presented us with a tiny double bed in a very small room. When I queried this, I was told by the hotel that rooms are not guaranteed irrespective of whether I am booking a twin or double, and the room I am given is dependent on availability when checking in. This is completely unacceptable, why offer the choice of the room in the first place? When I asked to speak to the Hotel Manager, she refused to speak to me and said there was nothing she could do. Although the hotel is in a good location, and is generally a nice hotel, the Manager and the room situation was completely displeasing.

Extremely disappointing!

Posted 26-May-2017
Pros: It was close to the area where relations I was visisiting lived.
Cons: Realistic room description Clean the windows Cups/mugs not disposable Timely room servicing Better towels Better meal recording
Location: The metro was close by giving easy access to all Paris attractions
I booked a Premium Double room as a imagined that it would be clean, airy and perhaps a little luxury; I couldn't be further from the truth! Their website depicts a clean, bright and uncluttered room, what I found was a dingy dark and extremely cramped room. The dirty window overlooked an overgrown garden at the rear of the hotel and consequently there was very little light coming into the room. The light coming into the room was so little that it required the lights to be switched even in the mornings. The tea and coffee making facilities were meagre. On arrival, we found the 2 cups provided were disposable and there was only one tea bag, one coffee sachet, one flavoured tea bag and 2 milk portions! The bathroom was extremely small but clean. Two small bath towels and one hand towels were provided, they were clean but small and hard. We booked stayed for two nights however on returning at around 5pm on the second day only to find that the room had not been serviced. It was done eventually, taking all of 3 minutes from start to finish. We didn't book or take breakfast but on departure, the receptionist was unbelieving and took several minutes of checking and cross-checking before accepting this. Needless to say, I won't be returning and neither will I be recommending it!
