Excellent hotel in a quiet location

Posted 27-Nov-2016 on Hotels
We chose the ardilaun Initially because of its price, compared to other 4 star hotels it was good value for money. It's a 30 minute walk to the city centre which is OK if the weather is good. 10 euro for the taxi back (rip off) The ardilaun has beautiful gardens and plenty of free parking. The hotel itself although a bit dated has a spacious lobby. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The leisure facilities were excellent with good size pool, steam room and jacuzzi. One gripe I had was the girl in the leisure centre told me if I was using the steam room or jacuzzi, I would need a cap And was going to charge me for one.!!! I used the facilities and seen loads of people without a swimming cap.! The breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. We requested a top floor quite room and we got a good one, the only thing we didn't like about the room was a very strong smell of fresh paint. All in all its a good hotel with a competitive price and quality leisure facilities

Enjoyable Stay

Posted 23-Nov-2016 on Hotels
Arrived we were met by a wonderful receptionist called Amanda, she was so pleasant and friendly it was a super start to the few day's stay. The staff were all the time cleaning, the bedroom was fine it was clean, the bathroom was a bit tight, but non the less we enjoyed the break. The hotel it self is a little dated and could do with some upgrading but it was fine. Taxi service to the hotel was great!!

Location: Town is 5 minutes drive, with easy access to other attractions & Salthilll
Great grounds & facilities, staff helpful. Only downside is the rooms are looking dated & need an upgrade.

Scenic hotel

Posted 17-Oct-2016 on Hotels
Unfortunately I was little disappointed with the lack of basics in the room considering the price, there was no fridge or iron. Our friends who paid for the same room were upgraded at no charge and there was a stark difference in the rooms so we felt a little cheated. Other than that the service was great and we really enjoyed the leisure area.
