Nice hotel

Posted 20-Nov-2017
Pros: Nice bar that closes late. Friendly staff
Cons: A parking spot should be kept free in the car park for guests checking in
Location: Tells you a lot about Ireland’s recent history
This hotel was nice. Room was very clean and comfortable. Parking is very limited. We parked in a car park near by. For the inconvenience, our room was upgraded.

Nice hotel but not much nearby in the way of restaurants. Downtown center is a bit of a walk.

Good location, Comfortable accommodations

Posted 20-Sep-2017
Pros: The staff were helpful, welcoming and accommodating. Location suited our purposes overall. Would certainly recommend.
Cons: A later close time for the restaurant, or the option to bring in food into the bar after it closes would be great.
Location: Easy access to shopping, groceries and a few restaurants. Close to main roadways, so convenient for those driving.
The hotel is located about 1 mile from the city center. It's a decent walk along shops and a busy road, or a short drive. That led some in our party to opt for taxis. Relatively close to NUI-Galway. Sits above a gas station, which adds noise to rooms on that side but also provides lots of quick food options. A few restaurants in the adjacent shopping area, including pizza and Indian. Grocery is just a 15-minute walk. Rooms were fair-sized, clean, and comfortable. Restaurant offers a reasonably-priced Irish breakfast buffet with a small amount of continental selections (and very limited additional offerings at breakfast); adequate menu for lunch and dinner. Bar remains open later, but restaurant/room service stops at 9 p.m. Free wifi and free underground parking garage are convenient. Staff was courteous. All around, a good value.

Easy access

Posted 20-Sep-2017
Pros: Great service, great breakfast. Comfortable room.
Location: Close to the stunning Galway coast. Excellent dining in the city centre.
Made to feel welcome the instant we walked through the door. Taxis were on call and arrived within seconds. Close to city centre.

Convenient

Posted 19-Sep-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Bed
Location: If you need to stay in this area, it's not the worst selection. Plenty of free parking.
Location is right near gas station and convenience store which was nice. Room had a fridge which was unusual but a pleasant surprise. Walls are thin and adjacent room doors slam shut, so that was annoying. Bed was horrible. It was like sleeping on a 45 degree angle with no support. Water pressure is very poor.

You can do better!

Hotel room not clean. Took a shower upon arrival, walked barefoot around the hotel room for 10 minutes and had to go back to the shower because my feet were black from the dirty carpets. Bed mattresses dipped in the middle. Pizza at hotel restaurant terrible - must've been frozen.

Great location, nice hotel

Very nice hotel with great staff (especially Anita and Carol at front desk). The hotel was clean and comfortable and located a short walk to the restaurants and shops of downtown Galway with the Salt Hill area a bit further but certainly walkable (buses are also available across the street). Our day tour bus stopped at the hotel and dropped off after a day of touring. Definely recommend this hotel.
