central location

Posted 21-Nov-2016
Pros: the location was just right either for the visitor driving or even if you are travelling by bus/train
Cons: Accessing reception was a problem with cases. Would be much easier to walk out and around to main hotel door. A notice would help this.
Location: Very central with easy access to the streets/restaurants/ social life. Christmas markets were great too.
This hotel has a great location, close to the centre of Galway where you can spend all day wandering around. You can park your car, leave it there and just stroll around Galway for your entire stay without worrying about where to park. The hotel has a great arrangement where you only pay 50% of the parking fee due - nice touch. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful at check-in/check-out. The room was quiet despite staying while it was clearly very busy and the room was located just overlooking the river - so a great view while sitting having a cuppa! Very relaxing - beds were comfortable.

Great location, standard room.

Pros: Great location near the Spanish Arch, museum and main retail streets. The 10 Euro breakfast was very good.
Cons: The room felt so plain and bland. The bed was a little "tired" (no pun intended) and the lighting was uninspiring.

Excellent hotel in Galway City

Posted 06-Oct-2016
Pros: Close to anything you could want. The room was nice and clean, comfortable with a great view of the river. Definitely would stay in again.
Cons: Laundry services were exceedingly expensive. The laundry bags are convenient to store dirty clothes in until you get home though.
Location: There is shopping, pubs, bars, the bay and river are right outside, as is the Spanish Arch. Close to the bus and train station

Decent hotel with an excellent location

Posted 22-Sep-2016
Location: Great bars with live music and pub grub. Certainly felt you were in Ireland
Hotel was not up to the level of other Jury's Inns but was adequate for the one night I was there. Best part is the central location to the main street where all the bars and restaurants are. Although depending on your love of music listening to street performers directly below your window may not be everyones cup of tea, it was actually a bonus albeit I was glad they were gone by 11pm. Breakfast was below par for the £9 it cost. I selection of coffees would be a huge improvement given they have large coffee grinding machines which only spit out black coffee. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious and clean but lacked extra furnishings that would have made the room feel less vacated. An armchair would have easily fitted along with a small table. The TV in both rooms (my colleague also stayed) had the aerial cable knocked out so for perhaps the less techie minded it may have presented an issue. Be warned the car park next door is perfect location but extremely narrow, we had a Vauxhall Astra and had to climb out of the passenger seat to get in and out due to the narrow spaces.
