Convenient

Posted 19-Sep-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Bed
Location: If you need to stay in this area, it's not the worst selection. Plenty of free parking.
Location is right near gas station and convenience store which was nice. Room had a fridge which was unusual but a pleasant surprise. Walls are thin and adjacent room doors slam shut, so that was annoying. Bed was horrible. It was like sleeping on a 45 degree angle with no support. Water pressure is very poor.

Great hotel, large room, free parking.

Location: Great location out of the hustle and bustle.
Really nice hotel just out of the City. Easy stroll into town centre.

You can do better!

Hotel room not clean. Took a shower upon arrival, walked barefoot around the hotel room for 10 minutes and had to go back to the shower because my feet were black from the dirty carpets. Bed mattresses dipped in the middle. Pizza at hotel restaurant terrible - must've been frozen.

Great location, nice hotel

Posted 24-Aug-2017
Very nice hotel with great staff (especially Anita and Carol at front desk). The hotel was clean and comfortable and located a short walk to the restaurants and shops of downtown Galway with the Salt Hill area a bit further but certainly walkable (buses are also available across the street). Our day tour bus stopped at the hotel and dropped off after a day of touring. Definely recommend this hotel.

Fine hotel, slightly too far out from main town.

Posted 30-Jun-2017
Pros: Free parking, free wifi, reasonably priced.
Cons: The restaurant, esp the quality of food and menu choices
Location: Slightly too far out. But small shopping area and cinema close by.
The hotel was fine. The restaurant menu choice was poor, and nearest restaurants where in the main town. There was a very small shopping district near, but very little shops of interest at it. The hotel spa was not available during my two nights and hard to get information about it.

Warning - beware of overbooking + terrible service

Posted 20-Jun-2017 on Hotels
Arrived at the hotel and went up to the front desk - was told that the hotel overbooked for the night and that they went ahead and booked us at a different hotel down the road. No prior communication was given - no email, no phone call, nothing. They just took matters into their own hands, booked a lower tier hotel for me and my wife, and their consolation was providing us free breakfast vouchers at the other hotel. We booked this hotel well in advance (approx 3 months prior to arrival date), and were booted because of travel buses taking the capacity. While I understand - it would be easier to handle if we had been given advance notice in any form and a full reimbursement as opposed to waiting until we arrive to deliver the news, and booking a lesser hotel for us. We would've preferred to have stayed elsewhere. This is not the way respectable hotels should handle things - terrible customer service.

Comfy friendly hotel.

Friendly and comfortable hotel...We enjoyed our stay at the Maldron hotel..The staff were very pleasant and friendly. We found them very helpful...The room was spacious and comfortable. And we even had an ironing board. The only thing we felt was a bit of a let down. ..was the breakfast. Which was just ok and uninspired.. But once again the staff were friendly and attentive. ..so all in all ,we really enjoyed our stay.

Business Location

Posted 11-Jun-2017 on Hotels
The staff was great, breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable and spacious enough. The downfall is the location. It's more of a business location. The walk to downtown is about 20 to 25 minutes.

Overall great value and convenient location

Posted 09-Jun-2017 on Hotels
Hotel service is great, property is clean and a convenient location. Overall rating of 4 stars seems about right, but I would have to say room quality is more of a 3 star rating not 4. The room we stayed in was dated and in need of an upgrade. No A/C but leaving the window open was just fine. Beds were ok. A little springy.
