Situated on a canal on West Bay in Jamaica Beach, “Pelican Nest” is an immaculate 3BR/2BA home with a prime locale next to Galveston Island State Park. Head just over 1 mile to the coastline or take the kayaks on a Gulf adventure. Enjoy lazy afternoons on the amazing outdoor spaces, followed by an alfresco meal on the sunset deck. LIVING AREA Natural light floods the welcoming living room, furnished with a queen-size sleeper sofa, love seat, and 50” TV. KITCHEN & DINING Whip up delectable creations in the sparkling kitchen, equipped with a full suite of appliances and ample counter space. When it’s time to eat, both the dining table and kitchen island accommodate four. BED & BATH This two-story home sleeps up to seven guests between three bedrooms and the sleeper sofa in the living room. The master suite is located downstairs with a separate exterior entrance (there is no interior stairway). This private retreat is furnished with a king-size bed, recliner, and 42” TV. The en-suite bathroom is fitted with a walk-in shower. Sleep soundly in the upstairs second bedroom, featuring a queen-size bed with a twin-size trundle and French doors that open to the back deck. The adjacent third bedroom offers a queen-size bed and French doors that open to the front deck. The guest bathroom is configured with a walk-in shower. OUTDOOR AREAS The ground-floor patio offers a wonderful place to unwind overlooking the canal, complete with a hammock and ample seating. A fish cleaning station provides a spot to prepare your catch of the day. Two kayaks are provided for your enjoyment. Relax on the morning sunrise deck or the evening deck facing the famed West Bay sunsets. The back deck also offers alfresco dining for six. Fire up the new Weber charcoal grill and host an afternoon cookout. EXTRA AMENITIES & MORE DETAILS Complimentary Wi-Fi, a washer/dryer, and driveway parking for two vehicles is provided. An outdoor shower is handy for rinsing off after a day at the beach. The main living area of this stilted home is accessed via one flight of exterior stairs from the driveway. THE LOCATION Located on a canal on the West Bay in Jamaica Beach, you’ll have prime access to dining, shopping, and entertainment options in both Jamaica Beach as well as Galveston Island. For fun-filled days, visit Moody Gardens or Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier. Amazing hiking and birdwatching can be experienced next door at Galveston Island State Park. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. If you want to fish behind the house on the canal, there is a green fishing light for night fishing and A LOT of fish. Bait fish are jumping everywhere about 30 minutes after sunset. We bought a cast net to get bait, but it was difficult to catch the larger fish because there was so much live bait in the area. It was written on a small chalkboard in the kitchen. But I called the 1-800 number and was given a code that did not work and was told someone would call me back. I am still waiting on that phone call. The listing states a trundle bed and sleeper sofa which are there but there were no bed sheets available. Constantly fought ants in the kitchen and we never left food out. Ants were there when we got there. The instructions stated to access use the code provided to unlock a locked key, the code did not work nor the description of what the lock box looked like. The person I talked through this app was not able to help and said he would have someone call me, no one ever called. A few hours later we found a note on a chalkboard saying what the code was. I never heard from anyone though to see if we were able to unlock it. Also most of dishes did not look clean, I washed everything before we used it. The ceiling fan in living room did not work either. This was just an ok property, personally I would not rebook this same property. ##### Stacy P. On the first night (1 of 11) after we had went out to dinner, we weren’t able to get into the property. The electronic lock failed & wouldn’t unlock. We called the 24-hour number. That lady said that she was going to reset the code, even though that wasn’t the issue. She reset it anyways. That didn’t work. She gave us a lockbox code & said it should be under the stairs. We found the lockbox, but it was empty. She called the property manager. She arrived, but didn’t have a key to the property. So, she called a maintenance worker to bring a new door lock. He tried drilling out the lock, but was unsuccessful. The door had to be kicked in. We finally got in the house at 4am. The manager said she would credit back our card for our inconvenience & it would take 3-5 days. The next day, the ceiling on the downstairs unit started leaking over the bed. I texted the manager & told her that it was the upstairs bathroom that was leaking. First, she sent over an a/c guy. Then, she sent over a plumber. (This was on my son’s birthday & I missed out on going on a deep sea fishing trip to wait on him.). He determined that it was the washing machine. So, then I had to be there for an appliance repair man. (We brought our dog, so someone had to be there.) After a week, it was repaired, but still no money back.
