This multi-level, three-bedroom rental is just a couple blocks away from Termini-San Luis Pass Road, one mile up from Galveston Island State Park for hiking, birdwatching and swimming, and only 12 miles from the historic heart of Galveston for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Bright, inviting, and thoroughly updated, this beachfront home has hardwood floors, colorful furnishings and accents, and numerous windows offering breathtaking, panoramic views of the water. Feel instantly at ease in the upstairs living room with plush leather furniture, multiple ceiling fans, a warming electric fireplace, access to a private balcony with a romantic porch swing, and, of course, spectacular views through a wall of large, Gulf Coast-facing windows. On the lower level (down a spiral staircase), there's a seating area, a dining area for six, and an open, fully-equipped kitchen with a host of essential accessories. The kitchen was laid out well, and able to accomodate us all, as well as my son and his girlfriend who visited and cooked dinner for us. My granddaughters loved the easy walk to the beach, and we spend a lot of time there. The porch swings are delightful, to just sit and watch the surf. The beds are very comfortable, and we all slept soundly. Plenty of pillows, etc. There is a whole bookshelf of games, movies and books to browse with the beach right outside the large windows. My husband and I enjoyed our stay with our fur babies. Steps away from the beach, we were able to watch the family play in the water from our porch, or from inside the house in the AC. The house itself is fine, but could be a bit cleaner, and I killed a giant roach in the kitchen. But overall a good choice for families. ##### dianne w. A nice house practically on the beach with beautiful ocean waves slapping up against the sandy beach. It was also very peaceful and quiet with a relatively few of amount of people… just enough to know that you’re not alone. Of course we walked along the beach a few times but spent most of our time telling stories and laughing while hearing and watching the ocean and the seagulls… a perfect backdrop! Sunrise and sunsets and all day viewing. Great porches and outdoor seating. Spent the week outside on the porch. Home is older and smaller inside but perfect for our family of 5\. Kitchen was great and had all that we needed. Needs a really good cleaning as it was very dusty. Needs additional bedding but had a great stack of bath towels! Lots of sand toys in garage for kids to play with. Bring pillows and extra blankets. Bring your own cleaning spray. The location is the winner for this house. The kids rooms will be a bit tight, but the excitement of the kids getting to play on the beach will tire them out. The house is right on the beach which is very convenient, sunsets and sunrises are spectacular. As a retired Merchant Mariner the upstairs living room made me feel like I was on the wheelhouse of a ship. Bring binoculars and beach chairs.
