"At first it all seemed well. After booking they took almost 2 hours to get to the property for check-in. The room looked newly renovated, but since it was located in the basement, the smell was quite similar. The breakfast was ok. Next day they let me perform some remote work in the garden, which was nice and hospitable. But suddenly they requested me to leave the property directly, while I was in the middle of a digital meeting. This was very uncomfortable. I would not book again. "

"I liked this place, staff were very friendly and we were offered cold water and/or coffee upon arrival. Keys are a bit sticky in the street entry door and door to the hotel inside. Also, this hotel is located on the second floor and has a small, slow lift (not uncommon in Italy in my experience). Lighting in the rooms was able to be cycled through normal and coloured ambient lighting which was nice and relaxing. Room was spacious and had a balcony, air con worked well. "We had a wonderful stay! Everything in the hotel worked perfectly. Vincenzo was amazing – he gave us many great tips about what to do in Naples and was always so helpful and friendly. "We had the most amazing experience at Hotel Matilde. Everything was superb, from check in to check out. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel location is perfect for exploring the Spanish Quarter and is only a 10 minute walk to the historic centre. The hotel itself is stunning, we loved our room and the facilities were superb. The breakfast is amazing, one of the best we ever had. The fresh pastries are wonderful. I can say we appreciated every moment of our stay. The staff restaurant suggestions were also very, very good. Naples is an incredible city and I really do recommend Hotel Matilde for a stay."

"My stay at this hotel was overall positive. The staff were friendly and professional, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The complimentary mini bar was a nice convenience and added to the overall value. Breakfast was very good (9/10) with a solid variety of options and good quality food. The main drawback was the in-room TV system. It was quite restrictive — there were no streaming or casting options, and no built-in apps such as YouTube or Netflix. For a hotel of this level, a more modern entertainment setup would be expected. Aside from that, everything else met expectations, and the experience was pleasant overall. Huge shoutout to the receptionist who checked us in (unfortunately I forgot her name but maybe Amalia?). She was super friendly and answered a lot of our questions regarding transportation and our stay there. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who plans to stay in Naples."

"Room spacious if sparsely furnished, but everything you might need. Beds comfortable. Bathroom spotless, water hot. Staff very friendly and helpful, great breakfast, coffee available 24/7 in the lobby for just 1 Euro. Fantastic location, 5 minute walk from railway station and airport bus stop. Choice of excellent restaurants just a short walk across the Piazza Gariboldi. Would definitely stay here again. Can't fault it, we even had a roof top terrace overlooking the Piazza!"
