Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Funningsfjørður?

The best time to go to Funningsfjørður is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is at its mildest and the days are longest.During this period, you'll experience average temperatures between 10°C and 13°C, which is ideal for exploring the stunning natural landscapes without the chill of other seasons. The extended daylight hours, sometimes reaching nearly 19 hours around the summer solstice, provide ample opportunity for sightseeing and outdoor activities like hiking. This is particularly appealing for couples looking to enjoy scenic walks and the dramatic coastal views around the Eysturoy region.Families will also find these months most convenient. The warmer weather makes it more comfortable for children to participate in outdoor excursions, and many local attractions and boat tours operate more frequently during the peak season. You'll find it easier to plan trips to nearby villages or explore the fjords when conditions are calmest. While there's a higher chance of rain even in summer, the warmer temperatures make it much more manageable than in the colder, wetter months.
