If that is your plan, this apartment will fill you up. Recently refurbished, this property is located very close to the old part of the city, a place where art and tradition come together to offer a pleasant walk and good moments of tasting regional or international delicacies, available in the several restaurants of the area. With a bedroom with a double bed, the apartment offers a very pleasant decoration and comfort tailored to your needs. In the living room, the well-being combines with the beautiful sea view with Funchal's harbor as a highlight, visible through the apartment's balcony. Outside, you can enjoy a light meal on the balcony, while contemplating the view. Still in the living room you have a sofa bed that adds two more sleeping places. The kitchen is fully equipped and ready to host your meals during your vacation. The property has a maximum capacity of four people. THE NEIGHBOURHOOD AND THE SURROUNDING AREA If you are coming to enjoy the good weather and enjoy the best that the city of Funchal has to offer, look no further. This is the ideal area! In spring and summer you can take a swim at the Barreirinha bathing complex or at the small beach located in the old part of the city, both within a five minute walk from the apartment. All year round you can take a stroll through the streets and gardens of the city, or a walk along the seaside promenade that takes you to the Funchal Marina and the CR7 Museum. Nearby there is a wide variety of restaurants, bars, stores and supermarkets, pharmacies and other commercial surfaces. TRANSPORT For departures and arrivals from the airport, there is an aerobus stop about fifteen minutes walk from the house.The best option to reach the apartment will be the transfer. Ask us to arrange one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the cabs you find at the airport! GUESTS ACCESS Guests have access to all areas of the apartment. The pictures shown were accurate, and one of the first things we noticed was the incredible view from the fifth floor. The apartment was well-outfitted, with a small kitchen, and even had a washing machine which we did use. There was no AC (unless we missed it), and we did find a tiny salamander in the apartment on the first day. However these things did not bother us. The pictures shown were accurate, and we loved the view from the fifth floor. The apartment was well-outfitted, with a small kitchen and a even a washing machine which we did use. We did find a small creature that resembled a salamander in the corner of the apartment on the first day, but this didn't bother us either. It is in a wonderful location to view the town, the harbour and the Fireworks! But we did not expect stains on the living room mat and the sofa and no cleaning service or cleaning products to do some cleaning ourselves during the month we spent in the apartment.. The shower leaked on to the bathroom floor and one electrical outlet was almost dangerous. The kitchen appliances are excellent. The staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful when we spoke to them and helpful and apologetic when we encountered a problem. I did receive a text saying that a noise complaint had been made and we should be quieter. As an elderly couple, we were rather surprised and thought a mistake must have been made so did not pursue the matter and heard nothing further. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und hatte bis auf die Küchenausstattung alles, was wir brauchten. Der Sportplatz unterhalb hat uns nicht so gestört, obwohl dort gefühlt 24/7 Fussball gespielt wird. The experience overall during our stay, of 8 nights, at Alegria i was very pleasant: the space was very nice, super clean and comfortable. There was the housecleaning services in the middle of the stay which were very helpful as well! Location was perfect. Towards the end of our stay there were two cockroaches that appeared in the balcony of the flat - they must have come from the balcony, through a kind of water sewage there is there but we understand that this is not that unusual with the hot weather/proximity to the sea. Our apartment "An Island Apart" was located near the historical part of Funchal and close to the supermarket. The building has a private parking!
