Lovely location
Overall a very nice hotel and beach is beautiful. However staff, especially at reception/check in, need to improve efficiency as it took 50min to check in. Parking spaces are limited, I had to park off road near the beach few minutes walk from the hotel. Which is not great when you have luggage to carry

The main pool was closed, as was the Oasis restaurant, despite us speaking to the hotel 2 days before our arrival and being assured only the gym would be. Ditto the poolside loos. The place felt woefully understaffed, with the waiters, chefs and bar staff doing their best to keep up - and working themselves ragged. There were only 2 water points in the main restaurant, and only one place in the outdoor area (bottles of wine were available at mealtimes, but not water), making it a faff to keep a family with small kids hydrated. Hospitality staff were helpful and worked hard, but the front desk were mainly uninterested and sometimes downright rude. There were also some ridiculous instances; asking for a plaster at front desk, all we got was a shrug and “go to mini market”, then the restaurant staff kindly looked for a first aid kit - only to realise there wasn’t one anywhere around the kitchen or serving area! (Eventually one of the lifeguards got one for us.) We had hoped to get a cake for our daughter’s 5th birthday, to which front desk said no, the kids’ activity coordinator said no but offered a bottle of cava (!!!), and only when I spoke to the manager was it arranged. We were prepared to pay extra, it wasn’t a case of entitlement, but the whole trip was built around our daughter’s birthday, and it was somewhat ridiculous that it took 3 (or actually, maybe 4) conversations with various folk before we could get a cake made. Got lots more to say, but it won’t fit!

Sad that I didn't see Fuerteventura
I didn't go yo Melia, because the hotel was closed during my time of reservation. I am sorry and feel very sad, because this suppose to be a dream vacation with my family. But Covid-18 took care of it! Therefore no photos, not memories! I used good remarques, because my friends were there last year...and they liked it.

Yoga & Pilates options every week day with Anika who was fantastic. Great hotel, though no sound proofing between floors so didn't always sleep soundly. Rarely a vegetarian main option for dinner but could always get a good & tasty range of sides & salads. Location is slightly off the beaten track but good for us as Volcano bikes is based there so we had wheels to go explore further afield.

POSITIVE SIDE: Our room half board with panoramic view was brilliant overlooking the lagoon beach and pool, compliment surprise on my birthday from hotel. The main food is fresh and massive selection. the hotel is isolated but have convenience indoor store great for your emergency need. 3 days is enough to explore around the location. Night entertainment is fantastic but limited hours only. Had order rent a car in the hotel with delivery is very convenient. customer service staff reception is excellent. NEGATIVE SIDE: Room service is disappointing every time to make up our room not refilling the tooth paste, never change the bed sheets for 7 nights. drinking glasses and towels is not enough instead of 3 guest they change only 2 pcs I have to keep asking to reception. On breakfast dinner found expired butter/margarine look black colour on top but I didn't complain I put it back and open it in order to notice with the staff, And I back the following morning they remove the 2 bowl of butter for time being is empty. if you are in half board accommodation no free water, you have to pay all the time. The drinks and water very expensive. No iron, Some 4**** hotel have provided. And one thing I was very disappointing because I woke up early in the morning bet 4 to 6 am no kettle provided to have a coffee, the buffet breakfast is open at 8am. I have been so may places this is my first time to express my feedback. So I didn't take any serious because I don't want to ruin my holiday.

Liked the room, asked for twin beds and got them. Bathroom was clean, although one of the spotlights was a bit flickery. Stayed halfboard, the breakfast buffet was great but some of the cooked items were a bit cold. That said, there was enough variety of food that it didn't matter. Would happily stay there again

Poor 4 star hotel
Stunning location, but hotel was very disappointing on a number of levels. Very slow check in and check out with no queue system so rude guests were allowed skip queue! Hotel in major need of refurbishment, wires hanging from light sockets in lifts, broken bed side lamps and air conditioning that didn’t work. WiFi was useless. Hotel was certainly not 4 star and having stayed in a couple of Melia Hotel’s before, this hotel fell well below standard I would expect from Melia Group.

Liked the pools and it was on the beach. The negatives were. It took over an hour to check in and the excuse was we all arrived at once. Funny thing was that there were only 6 people checking in with 2 receptionists. The process was terrible. They agreed a cot to be in the room and it wasn’t so after walking a long way to the wrong room type we discovered not only the wrong room type but no cot and a crying baby. Mini buffet on arrival was just a few yogurts and some other unappealing bits of meat and cheese. Thankfully they did eventually move us to a different room (the one we paid for) and it was much better. One service clean we had from a housekeeper left a cockroach upside down in a our room by the door. It must have been transferred from a brush or something. The buffet food was terrible for breakfast, lunch and dinner for an all inclusive. We barely ate anything as a result. Simple things like potatoes weren’t even cooked properly and the meat was of poor quality all round. We wouldn’t go there again. It’s definitely not a 4 star hotel.

My friend and i booked an all inclusive package for 4 nights/5 days. Below are what i felt were pros & cons. Also includes information that weren’t apparent in hotel description/inclusions. - Location is great & far but by the ocean. - Our room was on 8th floor (855)/ocean view, i think it’s the windy side. - One small pool is heated - Staff are nice & genuine - No temperature control in room (to make it colder or warmer) /Because it was in January- there were chilly howling winds all night especially being on 8th floor. - Not to have coffee makers/tea in the room is shocking - No bottled waters / had to pick up from bar “Gabi” that opens at 7pm & closes at 11pm. Otherwise goto snack bar for the drinks. - VERY poor Wi-Fi (almost non existent) - No conditioner, one shampoo & body wash - We couldn’t even give our credit cards to reception so that we could charge incidentals to our room - Service: poor housekeeping - didn’t refill our shampoo & bodywash, didn’t clear the used glasses - All inclusive: Beverages include all house beer, wine, spirits. Buffet food is ok, not sure what the difference would’ve been by paying supp to eat breakfast in the “Oasis” Restaurant (this is where lunch was served). Breakfast & Dinner in “Gorriones” - Spa access is chargeable at five EUR for 30 minutes. It’s a small spa. Only one jacuzzi that’s outdoors. - Long narrow pillows - Booked 2 beds, mentioned at c-in, STILL got one king bed (we managed)

We stayed at Melia for 12 days in August The beach is great (if you are not bothered by the naturists wandering naked) The food is great I can not think in something bad about it Maybe the wind … You have everything you need there, but to see the rest of the island is a must Cofete beach, Sicasumbre observatory, other beaches … If you wanna go shopping Morro Jable is about 20 minutes driving So yes, just go and enjoy The staff is great

Okay hotel but needs improvement to be 4*
On arrival, we were "greeted" by a woman who wasn't friendly. We then discovered the room had been made up as a twin room so went back down to ask that this was changed to one double bed and the man we dealt with was very friendly and arranged for this immediately. As we arrived late and had paid for all inclusive, the hotel had arranged for a cold dinner buffet for us which was considerate. The "double bed" was very uncomfy with the crack in the middle very obvious - there was no mattress topper to make the gap less obvious which was disappointing. The shower head did not stay at the highest point on the pole and kept sliding down which was annoying. There were a lot of improvements being made to the poolside area while we were there - literally men drilling at the ground which was really loud and not a relaxing environment. We both experienced upset stomachs which we believe was due to the ice in the drinks. The food was good though - there was a big selection every day and the quality was generally good. The day before we checked out, we asked if late checkout was possible and unfortunately, it wasn't. However the woman (who checked us in) said that we could get a courtesy room for a shower which suited us. The next day, we asked to use the room and were told we needed to book in advance and it wasn't available when we asked. Disappointed that we weren't told by the woman that this was the process when we asked the night before. Also, the gym was unbearably hot.

Lovely location, ideal for a relaxing week sitting by the pool or taking a stroll along the beach. Food was good especially the freshly made pancakes at breakfast and the desserts plus the cocktails. Was impressed by the fact there was a free bus to Oasis Park each day at 10 am so you could plan a day out there if you wanted to without having to hire a car or get there.

Obvious and necessary improvements of a good hotel
The hotel is good for a family of 4. Here are some suggestions: - Need of another elevator as well as faster elevators - the pool side bar closes at 5pm: why ?!! - It was unclear at the time of booking that half board guests would have to pay for beverages during dinner - our sea view balcony had two very large long chairs that did not allow moving around on the balcony - breakfast starts too late (7:30) for a hotel with so many int’l guests.

Ultra remote hotel
Heated pool being refurbished in winter with constant drilling noise. No gym. No English TV whatever. Hotel very remote specialising in wind/kite surfers. No possibility to walk anywhere, no courtesy bus. Not on bus route, needed taxis to get anywhere. No heating in hotel so during long cold spell most guests wearing coats and scarfs indoors. Dining room was like a canteen, always running out of food items and cutlery(orange juice ran out before we arrived every day) Why the need for 4 four poster beds in the bar when there is not enough tables and chairs ?

Nice hotel on a fantastic beach
We had a fantastic stay at the Melia Gorriones. Staff are friendly and helpful, the place (hotel and beach)is spotlessly clean, rooms comfortable, half board was good value. The best aspect of the hotel, however, is its location. It sits singly on one of Fuerteventuras best beaches. You don't get the overcrowding you have in some resorts, blue see, sand and dunes as far as the eye can see. The hotel garden is beautifully maintained and provides a great wind shelter when the sun is not out. When it is sunny you should definitively abandon the pool area and head to the beach. The water is warmer than the pool and the splashing around in the waves a lot more fun.

Great week away for wind sports.
Excellent and varied menu. The cook will prepare your breakfast or dinner choice in front of you. There is also a dazzling choice of prepared hot buffet food to tuck into if necessary. Lots of fresh fruit and the opportunity to try out a multitude of desserts. The grounds have been updated and improved to enable 10 minutes access to both the wind sports centres on the beach. So easy - even a gently enclined ramp down to beach level. The hotel is clean and my room was brilliant, enormous with a sitting area and a balcony with recliners. Bathroom good - everything worked. The bus took one hour to reach the hotel.

Location and Staff.
Such a great hotel--shame they didn't get the basics right... The staff are absolutely top-notch, especially the kitchen and dining room staff--they really go out of their way to make you happy! The food, equally, is excellent, both at breakfast and dinner--plenty of choice, two cooking stations etc, etc. The hotel's location is spectacular: even though it's a behemoth, it feels like you're the only person on the island. The beach really is all yours, for miles, and miles, and miles. Excellent pool facilities too. The lobby is a bit strange; it was designed to be impressive however, it could do with a bit of paint and, more to the point, the rooms were very disappointing... Granted, we stayed in the oldest part of the complex--the bathroom needed a new bathtub (it was visibly rusty), the AC filter was resting on the shoe-shelf for the first two nights, and the bed was appalling: it squeaked if you took a deep breath, yet alone if you moved, and it had virtually zero support. The lack of WiFi in the rooms, and very slow and temperamental WiFi in the public areas unfortunately, tilted the scales towards no, I wouldn't stay again or recommend the property to a friend.

Dated hotel, lacklustre staff
The hotel was built in the late 70's and has gone through various upgrades and improvements. The building is in a good condition and the general feel feels pleasant however there are areas that let it down and it should really be classed as a 3 star maybe. The best thing about this hotel is its location on the most gorgeous beach there on the south of the island. The beach is a real pleasure, if you like walking, bathing or just spending time on the beach, you'll love this hotel for the sheer convenience. The hotel has a lovely pool but quite honestly, most people were down on the beach. it's a naturist's dream by the way so if you don't want to see a whole lode of naked people, don't go there but if it doesn't bother you then its a dream location. Towels can be booked out if you leave a deposit. every change of the towels carries a small nominal charge. The hotel is secluded and no public transport serves the hotel however, there are plenty of taxies about. We opted to hire a car from the airport for the week, which cost roughly the same as the shared transfers. The restaurant was spacious and a wide variety of food but we are vegetarians and it was so annoying that hardly anything was labelled. The vegetarian choice was very limited and basic. The restaurant staff had no time to answer your questions or spoke no English! The staff and the processes look tired in this hotel, Maybe a fresh look would do it wonders.

Wonderful hotel but forget about the wi-fi
Rooms showing signs of wear and tear but comfortable, functional and clean. Exceptionally good staff, especially the chamber cleaning staff. Food is excellent and, in this case, I would recommend the 'all inclusive' deal without hesitation. The important thing here though is more the beach/lagoon location than the hotel - unbeatable! The one downside is the wi-fi - it is difficult to access - only seems to work in reception and some common parts - requires daily re-logging-in but doesn't tell you and is slow and limited. As long you can access moviestar (mobile 3g), which I did on my giffgaff contract, then this does work and is fast enough for holiday use. I doubt any hotel on the island has good wi-fi. Final word - this is a really comfortable, relaxed and well run operation - I think most people would be happy here.

Best Location for the beach without the crowds
We chose Melia Gorriones for the keep fit activities and were not disappointed. Raul, Jose, Alberto & Ingemar made Yoga, Pilates, Stretching, Powerbiking, Cardiobox and circuit classes very enjoyable. The fitness classes are much needed to counter over eating from range of dishes available at breakfast and dinner. Could have done with early evening stretching classes as well. We even learnt to Zumba for the first time - great choreography Heated 25m pool is great for laps and the Poolbiking, in addition to the 2 saltwater pools which are not heated. The weather was disappointing with rain, high winds and overcast days but there was enough to do with keep fit classes, heated lap pool and wading in the endless lagoons- bliss. Staff are great, treat you like adults by leaving you to do your own thing. The Christmas meal was unbelievable, waitering so very efficient and drinks on the house. Entertainment available in the evenings but rooms facing the reception area are not soundproofed from the evenings entertainment. Mosquitoes in rooms not sea facing was unexpected, had to keep air conditioning running on top of mosquito repellant plug-ins. No worries if you did not come with mosquito repellant, 2 excellent grocery shops available in the hotel - one on the 4th floor was open early morning to late evening even on Christmas day. EXCELLENT holiday. Very happy to return again.

Great hotel for beach-lovers
A large well run hotel right on the huge white beach. I asked to change rooms to be on the sunny side of the hotel as the rooms on the north side seem a bit dark and cold in November. I dont do water sports but watching the kite surfing from my balcoy in the late afternoon sun was lovely. The staff are friendly and polite. The food is OK and the choice is wide and varied. I would have enjoyed a more Scandinavian breakfast but if you like bacon, sausages and eggs in various forms you would be happy. The pool area is lovely with two large pools and a kiddies pool. The large salt water lagoon is a dream to relax in and the smaller pool is about 20 metres and ideal for length swimming . November is a good time of year for hiking biking and fitness activities as the temperature is in the mid 20s. For water sports though this hotel must be the tops with good facilitis and the superb environment.

Excellent Beachfront Hotel !!!!
The Hotel is situated in front of an amazing beach, with 3 swimming pools and a sea view terrace. It's a perfect location for relax, meditation and long beach walk. You need to consider that the place is always very windy so during winter after 3 p.m. can be chilly. It takes 1 hr by shuttle from the airport to the hotel but it's cheaper than a private taxi.

very pleasant hotel accomodation. Paticulaly liked the funky music in the reception during the evenings with a DJ playing a great selection of music. This created a great atmosphere when you entered the hotel. Gabi bar with atmospheric lighting and huge sofas and balainaise beds to lie down on. A lovlely bar outside with a view to die for. Also first class entertainment with a variety of acts for all the family. Great fitness well lead by the pool especially liked the live band playing to aqua class. pool bike was also a novel way to exercise in the pool and keep cool at the same time. Thanks to all the helpfull staff. Even provided a room for showering for late check out.
