Our hidden gem is tucked behind secure gates in the farmyard at Blatchbridge Farm, offering guests a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing stay. Blatchbridge is a pretty hamlet only five minutes’ drive/thirty minutes’ walk from Frome with its independent market, shops and diverse cuisine. The local pub, The Cross Keys, is a minutes’ walk from the cottage, offering good bitter, cider, and food. The detached cottage has a sun flooded open plan living space; there's a four-seater dining table and two comfy sofas, wood burner and kitchen area equipped with a controllable electric AGA. There are two pretty bedrooms providing easily accessible accommodation. One of the bedrooms has a 5' bed with an en suite shower and the other double/twin bedroom has a 5' zip and link bed. There is a further wet room with walk-in shower. Outside, there’s a shared seating area and small private patio. The property is stocked with everything you could need and is very clean. Ian and Kate were both very willing to help if there were any questions. Ian had to show us how the electric Aga worked which was simple once you knew how. They provided us with some lovely fresh eggs from their chickens. Really was a great base for the holiday. The Cross Keys pub which is literally across the road does fantastic food. We went into Bath and Salisbury, had a trip to Weymouth (about 1.5hrs away) but worth the trip and also went to Longleats safari park which was great and only 5 miles away. (Don’t go into the monkey bit if you are worried about them damaging your car, we left minus an aerial ). Overall a great holiday. The photos are a true representation and it was an absolute delight to stay here.The owners have done a fabulous job of renovating the Milking Parlour with lovely high quality and tasteful fixtures and fittings.Please, please, please if you are thinking of staying here, ignore the review dated 30th June 2025\. I felt devastated on behalf of the owners as it bore no relation to the premises whatsoever. There was a vase of flowers on the table along with half a dozen lovely fresh farm eggs. There was a lovely cosy, welcoming vibe and it was spotless. The sheets were crisp and white and the towels fluffy and plentiful. The beds were lovey and firm and both the showers were really good. The access instructions were clear and easy to follow. The farm itself was spotless and despite us expecting there to be the usual countryside smells, there weren't any at all.It's in a great location just a couple of miles outside Frome. I wholeheartedly recommend The Old Milking Parlour and would definitely stay here again. We absolutely loved it. ##### Jayne B.
