Save 30% for either one or both weeks July 5-19 Enjoy one the best beaches on the East Coast. There is no place like Frisco on Hatteras Island/OBX. The Gulf Stream runs right off the coast, making the water almost 10 degrees warmer than OBX towns north of Avon. Relax to the sounds of the surf; build a bonfire on the beach; go surfing, kite sailing or scuba diving; try your hand at surf fishing or join a deep sea fishing trip. You will quickly find out why Hatteras Island beaches are frequently rated in the top 10 of USA beaches. Cottage has one of the best views on Hatteras--without paying high oceanfront rates!!! Rooftop observation deck has awesome night sky star gazing and sunsets. The cottage has beautiful ocean and bay views and is located in the village of Frisco on Hatteras Island. Cottage is fully furnished three bedrooms (two BRs with queen beds, one BR with four twin bunk beds). There is also a separate den with doors that could be used as a 4th bedroom with a queen futon. Cottage sleeps 8 to 10 people comfortably and has two full baths plus large outside shower. Lots of updates in the last five years, including kitchen, bathrooms, new flooring, new decking..... Kitchen has been completely remodeled with new cabinets, counters and appliances--dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave, Keurig and regular coffee maker. Also washer/dryer, wet bar with mini frig, charcoal grill, multi level decks with furniture including covered deck with gate for your dog to safely enjoy the ocean breezes. Hang your hammock from the hooks on the covered deck to enjoy an afternoon nap or read your book. From the newly refinished roof top observation deck you can see miles of beaches and ocean and you can watch the beautiful sunsets over the sound. With Hatteras' dark sky designation, you will find some of the best star gazing. Other amenities included high speed WiFi; TVs in living room and den with cable. Cottage also has a stereo set to local channel for news and music; many board and card games; movies and books. There are ceiling fans in most rooms and central A/C throughout. We allow up to two dogs, up to 60 pounds each. NO CATS or other pets. It is a short a thirty second walk over the beautiful dunes to the beach. Watch dolphins play in the ocean from the living room or deck. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the bay. Let the ocean sounds lull you to sleep. Cottage is on a quiet, dead end road. U shaped driveway holds up to four cars. Some beach chairs/toys provided in the outdoor shower. Only 5-10 minute drive to: : the Cape Hatteras lighthouse, the Canadian Hole for kite boarding/windsurfing/kayaking and the Hatteras ferry to Ocracoke. Multiple great restaurants within a short drive. Cottage Rents SATURDAY TO SATURDAY ONLY IN PRIME SEASON. Off season dates have more flexibility. Rent direct from owner to avoid all the "extra" fees charged by the local realtors/management agents. Save yourself hundreds of dollars. NC does require collection of sales and occupancy taxes on all rentals. The Cottage has three bedrooms: two with a queen bed to sleep 2 people each; the third has two sets of bunkbeds for a total of 4 twin beds which could sleep two adults on bottom beds and two children on top or four children using all four bunks. On the top floor is a separate den with door that has a queen futon, so that could be use as an extra bedroom for up to two people. All beds have pillows and light blankets. Extra pillows and blankets are in bedroom closets. Guests are responsible for bed linens (sheets/pillowcases), towels and any paper goods. A signed lease by Guest who is 25 or older is required, listing all guests and dogs. Owner rents only to family groups; no college students or other groups. Upon booking, Owner will send email about lease and a signed lease must be returned to owner within 10 days of booking. The home was decorated so cute with ocean theme things throughout! We were so close to the ocean!! The beach was never really crowded. The house had beautiful views of the ocean!! We had seven of us and the home was very comfortable!! The owners of the home were so nice to communicate with and always responded quickly when needed. As with all homes on Hatteras island there were lots of steps. We had 4 older guests with us so the stairs were rough at times, but they managed. The inside stairs are vinyl & this was very rough on my older dog & we had to carry her. They're were 9 adults that fit comfortably & plenty of indoor & outdoor space to spread our. It was quiet and very quaint. The local shopping and restaurants were just as I expected. We wanted less crowded beaches and faster check-out lines, and that's exactly what we got! We had a wonderful stay over the holiday week. The house has great views of the ocean from multiple floors, and a 360 degree view from a crow's nest. It is such an easy walk to a wonderful beach, and at night you can see millions of ghost crabs on the beach! The outdoor shower is great, and the AC worked well to keep it cool at night. The stairs could be challenging for elder guests, but that's true of many of these properties. We misread the instructions and forgot to bring sheets or towels, which we then had to go and buy our first night, so definitely remember to bring those. ##### Jack K. The house had plenty of relaxing places to just chill and hang out (inside and out). We really enjoyed the top observation deck (views of the sunrises and sunsets are spectacular), and also brought our hammock along to enjoy naps on the 1st level wrap around deck. The very close walk to the beach made it easy to walk our dog while viewing the beautiful sunrises. The house itself was very inviting and was an excellent space to relax and unwind. The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials, and we felt right at home. We also utilized the beach chairs and umbrella that were on the property. This was fixed quickly. Overall we enjoyed the house and the many amenities. Loved the outdoor shower & deck to wash off on. The beach is a short walk straight down the street past two houses and over one big sand dune. Even on the most crowded day it was a single row of beach goers while no one within 25’ of us on the beach. Mostly clean sand with some shells. At night there were a few groups doing campfires. We enjoyed the the star lite sky’s and all of the crabs running around. We caught Whiting while fishing in the surf.We had our Weimaraner with us who loved the house and yard which has a natural “fence” of vegetation keeping the area private.Took a day trip to Ocracoke Island for lunch at SmacNallys which was awesome, checked out the lighthouse and the wild ponies. This trip is cost friendly as the vehicle ferry is free. The long lines to get on the ferry go pretty quickly.Happy Belly ice cream was everyone’s favorite stop.The fireworks at Avon pier were spectacular with plenty of room on the beach to watch.One note is there are no outlets on the ground floor so bring an extension cord if you’re bringing a pellet grill as we did. When we originally looked at the pictures of this house we thought it looked a bit dated but the pictures do not do this house justice. It has a very beachy cottagey feel to it. It is very close to the beach and very well stocked with everything that you could need. The outdoor shower was perfect for when we came in from the beach. We brought a hammock with us and hung it on the porch. It was a great place to relax. We also loved the rooftop deck. We made sure to go up there every night to watch the sunset. The owner is very quick to communicate and to answer any questions. As an FYI If you have anybody with you that has mobility issues getting on to the beach might be difficult for them. The pathway over the dunes is very steep and the sand is soft which makes it hard to maneuver. I would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to when we can visit again! ##### Amanda G. The property owner was extremely kind and easy to work with. The home was clean and spacious for our group of 9\. It included more than we expected! We hosted our Thanksgiving there and they had all the cookware/dishes necessary. It felt so cozy, like home. The views from the balconies were amazing! It was so awesome to walk out and be just steps from the beach. The hose downstairs came in handy, we didn't use the outdoor shower, but I'm sure it's great in the summer. Good amount of nearby stores and restaurants. We enjoyed many local food spots. Dinkys, Tavern on 12, Duck donuts, Bros, Kats deli, Frisco sandwiches and Stu's biscuits at Avon pier. Our favorite beach spot was the at the lighthouse. Great for surfing and fishing. We had kids ranging from age 1-9 and one dog. Everyone was sad to leave! Heading back to Florida and already thinking about our next trip. 5 stars all around! ##### Anna C. While the weather was a little cool and rainy, the house was exactly perfect for our family. Amazing views, especially from the top deck. Very easy walk to the beach and the house is surrounded by trees and vegetation, which affords a little bit of privacy while hanging out in the yard, etc. Very easy process and good communication. Just a very short walk to the beach, which had just a few people on it. The home is amazingly well equipped. With lovely views. You can see so many stars from the top deck.
