Needs Some Care

Posted 23-Aug-2017
I still love to stay here when I'm in Fresno, but it seems a little run down and needs some attention. The carpet was very stained. The air conditioner worked, but was very difficult to adjust. The bathtub was stained, & the bathroom tile needs some repair. Overall, I like the property & location, it just feels like it needs some TLC.

A mixed review

Posted 23-Aug-2017
Pros: Location and breakfast
The air conditioning was leaking water onto rug. Called to have it repaired. Maintenance came in morning but did not take care of problem. Room was located near conference rooms. 5:30 AM could hear noise of staff setting up conference rooms. Breakfast was good. Location was convenient.

Nice hotel a little off the beaten path

Posted 23-Aug-2017
Pros: Clean, spacious and friendly
Cons: Some of the floor tile outside the room needed repair. Other than that, it was great.
The hotel room was clean and spacious. The pool was very refreshing. Staff were kind, helpful and patient even though they had to contend with a difficult customer. I would definitely stay here again.

Central location for a good price

Posted 17-Aug-2017
My husband and I spent one night here before needing to be at the airport in the early morning to pick up our daughter. We had dinner plans in this area of Fresno & decided to stay based on proximity to our dinner & the reasonable price. The staff was great, room was dated & nothing fancy, but was spacious & comfortable. Everything was clean and our room was quiet. We also appreciated the free breakfast. It was your basic choices of eggs, sausage, toast, etc., but did the trick. We were also entertained by the mini pancake machine. We would stay again.

Piccadilly In Decline

Posted 10-Aug-2017
The charm of the old English Inn is gone. Replaced with marble slabs purched upon painted plywood boxes. Gone is beautiful mahogany floors and tables of the local pub. Serving overpriced appetizers Oliver's serves up little value for the money. Rooms are showing there age. Security is a concern with hall doors that do not latch. Weekend parking is also a problem with no division between guest and visitor parking. This was my last stay. Poor value for the money.

Pros: please see above
Cons: please see above
Location: well located; ready access to a variety of restaurants, shopping
Good/ Went Well - good for the price - room was large enough to not feel cramped - nice breakfast and set up - courteous, helpful staff (front desk and housekeeping) Could be better: - ice machines a bit far and isolated to walk to at night; should be one or two more placed toward the front buildings

Three a.m. alarm

Posted 17-Jul-2017
Pros: The hotel room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: It was hard to regulate the air temperature in the room.
I was in town with my nieces for a one-day family event. At 3 a.m., there was an alarm such as a smoke alarm that went off. It was not an intermittent sound but a loud, continuous high pitched ringing sound. It seemed to be coming from the bathroom fan, and it stopped after several minutes. I told the desk clerk early in the next morning and a repair man came in and could not locate the problem. He tried the smoke alarm and it gave an intermittent sound unlike the one we heard in the middle of the night. We checked out not knowing if it was identified or fixed. Little consolation was offered for the disturbance which was disappointing considering the amount paid for one night.
