Once a fine property but now having many issues.

Posted 20-Feb-2017
No heat in room, no water during the afternoon. Water pressure so low that toilet needed multiple flushes and shower, while warm, was but a dribble. Had to move to another room in another building.

Under Construction for 2 years

Posted 16-Feb-2017
Pros: Served it's purpose, a roof over our head, and a bed to sleep on. They did not have much more to offer.
Cons: Do not attempt to charge CC of guests who aren't checked in yet! Finish the construction, or at least be upfront about it to guests who are reserving!
Location: We only booked this hotel because it looked like it was the nicest looking hotel closest to the SaveMart Center.
The hotel tried to charge my card before I arrived for check-in. I got a call on the morning of our stay, from the hotel, stating they attempted to run my CC. I told them that I was booked under the "pay later" option through Expedia, so I'd be paying when I check-in. They said that on "sold-out" nights, they authorize the guests credit cards for payment. I explained to them that I had not even arrived for check-in yet, and had not authorized them to run my credit card. They had no policy to cite for trying to run my card hours prior to me even being allowed to check in. I simply said, I will pay at the time of check-in, just like my reservation notes. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel is because the pictures/hotel amenities on their Expedia profile say they have an adorable pub/bar in the lobby. We thought it would be perfect, as we were staying on Valentine's Day. However, when we arrived, we found that the bar/lobby area was under construction. I asked the receptionist when construction would be finished. She laughed and said that it had been under construction for two years. It is deceiving to list the bar/pub as a hotel amenity, especially if it has been under construction for 2 years!

We were just there for one night as we were meeting up with our car club early the next morning for a trip to Monterey. The hotel was close to our meeting point and it was within walking distance to DiCicco's Restaurant where we always enjoy a good meal. We would stay at the Piccadilly again when we are in the area.

Definitely Going Downhill

Posted 30-Jan-2017
Pros: On the plus side, the complimentary breakfast was surprisingly good! Lots of parking due to no one staying there!
Cons: See above.
Location: Fast food strip malls.
Room was tired, water pressure non-existent, hallway tiles filthy, lobby in disarray, restaurant closed for remodeling. We were in town for a memorial service and have stayed here in past years. Always been a decent place to stay. Asked about early check-in as we needed to change for the service but was told there was a $15 early check-in fee. I made a comment about their possibly waiving the fee due to the hotel's construction but was rudely told "no way". I smiled and agreed to the fee at which point they said no rooms were available until after 1pm - despite the hotel being virtually empty! Saw maybe 4 cars in their massive parking lots.
