Not sure what they are thinking...

Posted 20-Feb-2018
Pros: Breakfast was nice.
Cons: Give guests the option of having cool air in the room!
The Hotel is quite nice and clean. However, when we got to the room it was super hot like the heater had been on. It was not on, so we tried to cool it down by turning the fan on and the thermostat down. The staff said that the hotel disables the AC in the winter time. So, while the heater was not on, we just had to be hot all night. We did not even sleep under the covers. Also, they have motion sensor lights. So, every time one of us had to get up to use the restroom during the night the lights would turn on! None of us had a very good nights sleep and it was so hot that we could not wait to get out of there the next morning.

Simple. Rooms are larger than they need to be. Beds not super comfy but they are quiet. Felt safe.

We appreciate you taking the time to review us. It's true that our rooms are larger than a typical hotel room, we're glad that you noted it when staying here. Your safety is of utmost importance to us also, thank you for noting that as well.

Great hotel

Posted 13-Feb-2018
Great spot. ..great hot cooked breakfast. ...desk staff is cold and not accommodating. ....I've stayed there 50 nights in two years. ....and am treated like a bum....no cooperation. ....at all.....rest of staff are excellent. ...I felt totally unwelcome last visit, directly from the desk girls....

Nice Hotel if you get a room away from Shaw Ave

Posted 09-Feb-2018
Very comfortable bed, good size room. Generally fairly clean but needs some updating/fixing. Due to layout of complex, if you get a room away from Shaw Ave which is a busy street, it is very quiet. I do recommend this hotel.

Thank you for your review! Yes, with the 7 and 1/2 acre layout of our property, we have rooms to suit everyone. The "back bungalows" do tend to be more secluded, but some folks prefer close proximity to front desk and choose the front. Others want a room overlooking our courtyard. You're more than welcome to request a specific area for your next stay, and we'll do our very best to accommodate.

Quality fell in last year

Posted 08-Feb-2018
Cons: Hotel needs to remodel rooms.
I stayed at this hotel in 2016 and early 2017, and was pleased with my total stay of 4-5 days. My recent visit was for two days over a weekend. The WiFi never worked the entire period, staff was uncaring and unhelpful. The ice machine did not work, hotel staff did get me ice from the kitchen and attempted to fix the machine. My room was near a main road, sirens, big rigs, and traffic noises were a problem from 7am to 1am. Bathroom hot water was lukewarm during peak periods and most of the day except for early morning or late at night. The hotel no longer provides a newspaper for the day and now uses plastic eating flatware for breakfast. Hotel used real silverware and supplied a paper in the past, could be cost saving measures. Will stay at another hotel in the future and can not recommend it to anyone.

Hello Robert, we appreciate your review and the helpful feedback. If you do choose to stay with us in the future, we recommend requesting a room in the back of the property, which is very secluded. We will definitely look at the items you are addressing here and if you would like to speak with us regarding your stay, our front office manager is available.

Aged past its prime

Posted 31-Jan-2018
Pros: Location, breakfast in the Lobby, adjustable shower heads with plenty of hot water. However, the shower hot water didn't work until the morning.
Cons: They need to let you know of the huge surcharge to change your room from the ones facing Shaw that get parking cards head lights into your room.
Location: Very central to both commerce, residential and business at W Shaw.
At check in I asked to have a room that parking cars don't have their headlights aimed into your room. This necessitated a room change. They didn't tell me, but days after I checked out I found they added a huge surcharge to accommodate that room change. They have wall/floor antiquated noisy heating/AC, nit central, and they have popcorn ceilings c/w asbestos.

Thank you for your review, and for highlighting some of the items you liked about our hotel. We're sorry for any confusion about charges. Other than an incidental hold (which releases after checkout) the hotel does not assess additional charges to Expedia reservations. If you believe you've been charged an extra fee, please contact us so that we can look into it for you.
