5 Star with some 4 Star Changes

Overall, Swissotel Foshan is a decent hotel. It's comfortable and great for business trips. The room was clean and had everything that I needed. There are a few improvements that could be made to the hotel. I could tell that the hotel is a little older due to some of the trims in the room being damaged or scratched. Maybe needs some updates. The food choices in the hotel are not good. The burger that I ordered through room service was not cooked thorough enough and I could not eat it. The breakfast buffet did not have enough choices and my omelettes were never cooked enough. The Italian restaurant felt stuffy and my steak was not cooked to Medium Well as I requested. The air in the gym was extremely hot even with the AC on and the floors and equipment in the gym were extremely dirty. My hands were black after each visit.

Inconvenient

All guests must change lift to reach all guests rooms. Really inconvenient for guests! Location is not that good and the lobby is like an unranked hotela. A 5 stars hotel's lobby will not like that poor!

Nice place. Great staff.

It was nice. Friendly staff. Bathtub and shower in room on 49th floor had an amazing view! Bed could have been softer. Drinks at bar on 51st floor were too expensive. Over $20 usd for a Tanqueray 10 and tonic is more than I would pay at a much nicer hotel in America.

It takes an hour to shower...

We booked a Swiss advantage room on Expedia with a king bed and paid for three guests. When arrived at the hotel room, we noted the bed was much smaller than a conventional king bed. When enquired at the reception we were told that the king bed that the hotel uses is 1.8m wide... The hotel staff were courteous and helpful but could also used a bit more care and attention to give us a room with amenities for three instead of having the guests making the requests for extra amenities. The room we stayed in had horrible water pressure. The cold water was fine but the hot water drips. Set up of the room was also a bit dated without USB charging etc. Overall the experience did not live up to the expectation for a swissotel and we were very disappointed.
