"Adequate hotel close to the harbour"
The hotel is fine, albeit a little old fashioned and has a musty smell. The room was fine, some of the cushions and throws are a bit stained but the sheets look clean. Our room had a window out to an alley way and got very noisy on Saturday night into the early hours. Everything in the room was functioning and bed was comfortable. The shower was not great, for some reason the water came out far too fast, you couldn't really stand under it. We had baths instead. That being said, if you're staying for a couple of nights this hotel is fine. It's really central and was the perfect location for us during our stay. I probably wouldn't stay here for any longer than 4 nights.

"Convenient for break in journey"
Only booked 1 night fro break in journey. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and all skilled in multi-tasking - bar staff are also reception and breakfast table waiting. 1 young lady covers housekeeping and waitressing at dinner and sometimes breakfast too. She was a very pleasant and helpful individual. The room was adequate, the bed comfortable and spotlessly clean. Bathroom fittings while adequate are showing signs of wear and tear. Overall cleanliness would be improved with more attention to detail but since one person is responsible for all the rooms as well as doubling up as mentioned earlier perhaps this is to be expected.

"Comfortable resting place on the Highland Trail"
We stayed 3 nights at this hotel, arriving late the first day and planning to hike the next two, as we were not hiking the trail. This worked very well for us, as we hiked a beautiful part of the trail on the first day; and I was able to hike up the mountain the second day to begin a painting. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Generous and delicious breakfasts were provided with the room, and the staff who served us were very pleasant, professional and hard-working.

I would only recommend because everything else in this town if bad too. Heard everything the giggling girls next door had to say. Tiny room. Old. Musty.

"Great view and location "
We had a beautiful view of the river from our room. Building is beautiful. Rooms were just a little tired but clean. Lots of nice sitting areas on the main floor. Super handy to the rail system and downtown area. Cannot get wifi in the rooms without paying was the downside, but was free in the common areas.

"Good for Fort William and Ben Nevis"
This hotel was one of the few in Fort William (through Expedia) to have a vacancy for the time we wanted to be there, and I feel it was very expensive for a two star hotel. We were in the section away from the main hotel; this is being refurbished and it needs it, although our rooms were clean, well equipped, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of hot and cold items on the buffet bar. The hotel is a good 20 minute walk away from Fort William, but caters for walkers and hill climbers, so they would not be concerned at that.

"Charming country hotel B&B"
Charming country B&B overlooking beautiful Loch Lochy. Friendly family hospitality and great service. Food was fabulous. One of the best meals we have had in Scotland both dinner and breakfast. We will recommend to our friends in Australia. Thankyou Christian for a most welcoming stay.

The castle hotel is lovely, but -- as others have indicated -- it is rather overpriced. Having breakfast included helped, but at these prices I would think afternoon tea and dinner would also be included. Probably only worth it for someone with means or a really big splurge. I'm glad we stayed here, but was only able to balance out the steep cost by staying for next to nothing at other places on the trip.
