We stayed for 3 nights for a break after some work in mumbai. It was monsoon season so the hotel was quiet and we found it very relaxing. This was lovely if you like a peaceful time but I believe the experience would be different in high season. This place is full of character with interesting art and furnishings. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and found the food to be excellent. staff were friendly and helpful.

THE MALABAR HOUSE IS A CHARMING BOUTIQUEHOTEL OVERLOOKING THE HISTORICAL PARADEGROUND. THE PILLARED ENTRANCE LEADS TO …More
Everything was perfect. It is a bit expensive though for India. Staff is a bit overwhelming. Sometimes it feels like they will not leave you alone. They will stay and talk to you through the whole meal if you eat there. They are just trying to be nice but it's a bit much... Food is delicious though.
We were very glad we booked this hotel instead of others. It is a small hotel in colonial style with some really nice décor. The room was clean and bright with a bathroom that was more like a 5 star hotel. The staff were super friendly and helped us arrange local trips. We had already done a lot and our plans did not fit the pre-packaged one so they organised local guides and we had a wonderful time. The hotel is in the middle of Fort Kochi which meant that is within walking distance to all attraction. The food was amazing starting with breakfast and dinner. Since the hotel has only a small number of rooms the facilities were very private. The pool is small but given the location it is great to have one. We spend the afternoons on the pool and were mostly alone. We really enjoyed our stay.
Very good location.just opposite the ferry landing area and fishing nets. Large comfortable rooms. Clean pool. Excellent restaurant Unfortunately the tour desk was closed so we were unable to get any guidance at all
While staying at the Brunton Boatyard, we discovered that we needed help getting to our next destination. The staff helped us buy train tickets and get to the station. They even arranged to have the taxi driver walk us to the right platform, saving us quite a bit of stress.
They went above and beyond to help us with something which really wasn't their problem.
We stayed 2 nights just to have a different experience. View of the harbour is lovely but too much of water hyacinth floating around. The location of the reception is just wrong; first impression is not very professional as there is no proper lobby. Room is modern and clean with good layout, however, TV is missing. Location is too close to the mosque and area is not friendly enough to be walking about on foot.
Second time I have stayed here. This time I brought my family. Charming because it is basic. Not 5 star. Doesn't try to be. But old world charm definitely present. A very pleasant room downstairs to read books in. Staff lovely and very accommodating. Best to get the upstairs rooms if you can. They are quieter. Don't put your luggage under the aircon unit as it can drop water on your stuff. Not a major issue. Just beware. Love this place. Will be back if ever I stay in Cochin again. The rooms can be kept nicely cool in the hot environment. Location perfect. Near the nets and the shops and restaurants.
