It's the perfect place to experience a special part of Sonoma County - in peace and privacy, but with so much at your fingertips. This two-story home sits in a rural area on the north side of the river, about five miles north of small-town Forestville. The house feels wonderfully secluded, yet it's also close to charming downtown Healdsburg (12 miles), Sebastopol (12 miles), and a wide assortment of world-class wineries, including some right on Westside Road. In warm weather, go rafting on the river or soak up the sunshine at Mother's Beach (one mile). Or, take a drive through Guerneville (six miles) to spend the day on the wild and beautiful Sonoma Coast at Jenner (19 miles). Quiet and cozy, this home provides generous space to relax both inside and out. Sip your morning coffee on the deck as you breathe in the fresh forest air. In the evenings, prepare your favorite meals in the spacious kitchen, linger around the dining room table, and stream movies in the living room late into the night. The bedroom layout is unique and particularly private, with one bedroom and one full bathroom in the main part of the house and an additional studio - with its own sleeping space and full bathroom - downstairs, accessible from the exterior of the house only. Complimentary WiFi is provided but can be spotty due to this beautiful rural country environment. Things to Know Check-in time: 4:00 p.m. Check-out time: 10:00 a.m. There is no washer/dryer. All guests shall abide by Vacasa’s good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). However the house was wasn’t as clean as you’d expect when paying a cleaning fee. Dozens of stays later, I’ve never written something negative. In my opinion, people are generally simply trying to do their best. Not so with this experience.Enter this house, a completely soulless expanse, decorated in tasteless ikea, where clearly no human has lived except for the weary weekend traveler. But I digress, as this is not a review about style. Vacasa, the large corporation that apparently runs or owns this home, was too cheap to provide internet, their marginal effort was a decade old hotspot that didn’t work. As a result I sent a simple inquiry asking if the lack of internet could be fixed. We came here for a staycation to work and relax so this was important. The response was impressively swift, after barely 30 seconds I was told “we will contact our local team and get back to you”. Then. Silence. After 5 such inquiries, and almost verbatim responses, I realized i was probably talking to an AI chatbot. Doing some research I found a local contact, who when texted, surprise! had not been even contacted by the large corporate chatbot. Yet, even the newly discovered human didn’t offer to help. They just blamed a system error that led to them not being notified. Maybe, he was just another AI chatbot?Please don’t stay at this house. My kids missed their online math classes because there wasn't any connectivity. I had to call customer support multiple times. Finally when customer support came to the location it took them 2 hours to figure out that there was no actual modem and router in the home. The wifi was through a portable hotspot device which was out of charge and the charger was nowhere to be found. Also the second bedroom and bathroom are not connected to the main house and have a completely separate entrance. While this was mentioned in the listing, it felt a little hidden and was easy to miss. We were inconvenienced because of this as we are a family with relatively young kids.
