I booked this hotel specifically for a stay with my son as he loves to swim, yet once we had been allocated a room in the Refuge du Montagnard building we discovered we couldnt access the pools clearly advertised on the website. When i questioned this with reception we were told that its not possible. Ignore the pictures on the advert as they arent accurate for what you actually get. The hotel had a srong smell of sewage and drains, which wasnt pleasant. The location is very good, but sadly we wouldnt return." Thinking it would be a one off we booked again due mainly to the fantastic location. This year we were two couples and all four of us got sick to varying degrees with three of us unable to ski for a day. The hotel staff reported that other guests and staff were sick but that it was “stomach flu” that was in the resort. (Last year they claimed that it was gastroenteritis that was in the resort) We had four other friends on the holiday that we skied and socialised with who were staying elsewhere. They had no issues with sickness. I have had over forty skiing holidays in the Alps and have been sick twice, both in this hotel. This hotel clearly has a problem and the staff and management are denying it. We will not be back.
