The best

Posted 20-Aug-2015
We stayed at this hotel as a break in our journey from Key West to Miami. I sorely wish we had spent the main part of our holiday here. The staff are very helpful and polite. The hotel is extremely clean with a fabulous beach location. I had the best steak of my life in the hotel restaurant. Definately recommend this hotel. Brilliant.

Must Love Kids

Posted 13-Aug-2015
Location: Very close to a great snorkelling place behind Porky's and also a great place for a sunset cruise behind Lazy Days Bar. Both excursions were fantastic
My husband and I stayed for three nights in a Waterview beach house at Tranquility Bay and for the most part we enjoyed our stay. The Butterfly Cafe was delicious and the service was great. The tiki bar was fantastic and the perfect setting for a sunset at the end of a fun day. The beach is not really much of a beach and you can't really swim in the water at all, so if you go expecting a big beach, be warned that there really isn't much to it and it is full of seagrass. The pool is nice, but overcrowded. We went to the "adults only" pool twice and both times there were lots of kids in it with their parents...so this is obviously not really monitored. This resort is family-friendly but be warned there are a LOT of kids everywhere. The setting is beautiful but lots of kids and no real beach...just a heads up.

Rude Front desk, pool heater was on!

Posted 13-Aug-2015
The front desk was rude, as if they were doing us a favor. The pool heater was on in the main pool, in August? The pool felt like a hot tub. The restaurant is only open for three hours, 6-9pm. While the grounds are meticulously maintained, we were sold a water view 2 bedroom with a king bed and two twins. The bed was a Queen, the master bath is miniature, and we could see a tiny sliver far away of water through thick foliage. Needless to say I will not be returning to this overpriced condo masking as a resort!

Nice resort - but watch out

Posted 11-Aug-2015
Pros: Nice layout with 2 decks with chairs. Tranquility Pool was great.
Cons: Front desk/check-in attention to detail. Be up front about what you get.
Location: Marathon has good restaurants. Stuffed Pig was good for breakfast. Sunset Grill had excellent food and a family oriented environment.
Asked for early check-in, they called us after an hour and said they had to give our room to someone else and it would be a while. They let us go to the pool while we waited. Once we checked in, we liked the room - great layout - full kitchen, spacious living area, nice bedrooms. However...we specifically booked this location for a washer and dryer as we brought a limited amount of clothes for our trip through the Keys. Put the clothes in the washer with soap powder and nothing happened. My husband called the front desk and they said they knew it was broken and could give us $50 credit at the Tiki bar. I called back to say this was unacceptable and asked for another room, yet they were sold out. They said they had a maintenance request for the washer and dryer so I asked why we weren't told about this at check-in...especially since I already loaded clothes with the soap powder. Once again they offered the $50 credit for the Tiki bar, but I refused. They indicated I could get a credit through Expedia and to tell Expedia to call the front desk. I spent the next 15-20 minutes talking with Expedia and getting a $100 credit towards my booking. Still didn't help that we ran out of clean clothes during our 7 night/8 day trip through the Keys. Oh...and the dishwasher didn't work either. Be sure to ask if everything is functioning *before* you check-in...because they don't deliver what they advertise.

tranquil in tranquility bay

Posted 25-Jul-2015
Pros: the accommodations are great for families.
Cons: Could have a little more to do there
Location: close to snorkeling and dive shops.
Loved the cottage. Very clean would be great to have some music at the pool and perhaps a small bar in the pool area. Grounds were beautiful, but a little too quiet and we are not loud people.

This could be so much better!!!

Pros: The room, clean, fresh, big and comfortable.
Cons: Guest services, some control around the comun area.
Location: For those like us who love lower keys there is a lot to do around this place.
Clean, nice rooms, confortable. Pool has no regulations so people from the bar with alcohol in their hands and some of them with their ladies were at the pool at the same tame children were swiming and playing. Tha water at the beach is not moved well and often enough which makes it dirty and it doesn't smell so good. Unfrendly, unkind people at check-in. Absolutely will wash their hands because I did not reserved directly to them. So I pay for a waterfront and I got a mini golf court.

Tranquility Bay lives up to it's name. A perfectly, relaxing getaway for couples or families. My room was clean and beachy chic. The beach and gardens are stunning. The only down side for us- there is not a breakfast restaurant on site. Next time I will plan ahead & bring munchies for the morning.
