Great weekend getaway with beautiful views

Posted 22-Jan-2016
Pros: The staff and the views and nice big room
Location: Theatre by the sea right by the hotel was enjoyable. Took the hour drive to key west which was good.
We visited here for a long weekend with our 15 yr old son. The weather didn't cooperate with us but we still had a great time. Everyone that we encountered that worked there was very nice and helpful. Fred, that handles the water sports equipment was a delight to talk with and every time we saw him he was working hard and making sure that everyone was happy. The one day we did have sun, the beach was awesome and relaxing and the service we received on the beach was a nice perk and the waitresses were very attentive. The room was nicely updated and roomy. It was very quiet too. I think that the hotel was full but we never heard any noise from other rooms.

Nice hotel on the beach.

Posted 18-Jan-2016
Pros: We liked being right on the beach and having a view of the ocean.
Cons: We would have liked a few more protein options at breakfast - peanut butter or almond butter would be good. Drinks were pricey.
Location: Location was great. Lots of restaurants, parks and attractions nearby.
Despite stormy weather, we had a nice visit. Great ocean views, hotel staff was very helpful. We could bike to restaurants and nearby attractions. Pool was heated and there were pelicans all around. Had fun paddelboarding and kayaking. Hotel is right on the beach and there were plenty of chairs, hammocks and pool chairs.

Decent hotel on the beach

Posted 08-Jan-2016
Everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful. I think their prices are a little inflated for the quality of the room you get. I realize most of this is location and season, but a room priced at their prices just doesn't look like that.

Loved the view, but...

Posted 05-Jan-2016
Pros: Bed comfortable, shower in good order, location was good.
Cons: They need a Restaurant on location, a laundry facility, an ice machine, and longer or better entertainment hours.
Location: Fishing! Theater of the Sea is located right in front of the hotel in walking distance. Right down the road from the Diving Museum.
The room was comfortable, and we had a nice view. You can tell they recently went through a remodel. There were several things that would have made the stay a little nicer. This complex does not have a restaurant. They do have a concession kitchen with some simple foods, but even that close at 6pm. We were there for a 2 week vacation, and there was no laundry facility. There was no ice machine. There was a very small fridge, but almost to small to use for anything, basically a leftover box from a restaurant wouldn't fit in it. No microwave, which would have been useful if you could bring leftovers back. The room cleaning service was OK. Sometimes we had to hunt down the people to get towels, coffee mugs/glasses, that they took and forgot to replace. Entertainment at the bar ends at 3-4pm. We didn't even know they had entertainment until the last day we were there. We would go out during the day and when we came back it would be over. Would have been nice to know they had it. Basically the bed was comfortable and the shower was good, but everything else was mediocre. There is so much potential for this place. The location was good, and it could be a great place to stay with just a few amenities, but for the price that we paid, I expected a little more.

A quiet spot

Posted 05-Jan-2016
The resort is next to the sea. There is a beach and a pool whiting 50m from the room. . After 10pm it was indeed quiet. The rooms are very basic and not encouraging to stay in the room. Eg no table or chairs in the room. They have a sea facing balcony which is very nice. Breakfast is rudimentary with a limited selection. The staff is helpful.

Cons: Hotel with poor elevator access. Had to carry suitcase up 3 flights of stairs. This could be difficult for older folks or person with disabilities
Decent hotel with small beach. Nice upgrades to rooms.

Beautiful view and great location

Posted 22-Dec-2015
Pros: We really liked the location, because we wanted to explore the keys. Islamorada is in the middle, so it was perfect.
Cons: The restaurant served at the bar, is extremely limited, the breakfast could have fresh fruit rather then canned.
Location: Shula's is very close as is Robbie's. If you haven't had one of Robbie's Trailer Trash Bloody Mary's your missing out!! It's a must do!
My husband and I vacationed in the keys for 2 weeks this year. It was such a nice comfortable place to stay. It looks as if the hotel has just been renovated recently. The beds and pillows were comfortable, Nice shower heads...I hate that when you get into the shower and the water sprays everywhere but where it should! The staff was very friendly and accommodating! We would stay here again.

Too expensive for what you get!!

Posted 23-Nov-2015
Way too expensive!! Unfriendly staf with check-in, negative and asked us 4 times the Same thing and didn't listen to what we said. At the bar They give you a note everytime with if you Will add a 20% tip or nothing. No other option, so if you want them to be Nice for the rest of your stay you have to tip them the full 20%. The Waitress on the beach advised other gasts to take a Bucket (with 4 Beers and you get 1free). We thought That were diverent Beers because she didn't tell us, but we found out we were drinking the Same. So we were treated different, not cool at all! Is it because we are not Americans? we did do the 20% tip so That couldn't be it! When we checked out we paid 20% extra for a lot of different fees , eventhough we paid 'everything' already at expedia... Not a good experience , and way to expensive for what you get comparing to other hotels!
