Very nice and lots to do for kids.

Changed our room without notification but worked out well. Kids loved the kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming. Close to lots of really good restaurants. Activity director very friendly and helpful.

Great time!

Posted 28-May-2016
The rooms are no nonsense, but the hotel is Right on the beach, has an on-site snorkel tour, free breakfast, beach towels and even a swinging bed by the pool to relax on ! They have free kayaks to use, an outside bar and food.. Everything for a relaxing great vacation. Look for the resident pair of Ospreys!

Well located between Miami and Key West.

Great night sky on dock. Lots of water toys. Decent breakfast. Generator humm if you stay near the front, but not on the beach side.

Hotel with ammenities

Posted 04-May-2016
Pros: Location and friendly staff
Cons: Rooms, maid service, breakfast,
Location: We enjoyed all of the Florida Keys and especially Key West and Bahia State Park
The visit began with a long enduring wait for our room to become available after a five hour wait and long after check in hours, only to have a "ocean view" which was a view of the registration roof and little if any ocean view. The maid service left a lot to be desired. We did not receive shampoo or soap even after calling down for such items. The hotel service fee of $25 per day we feel was a bit extreme considering the continental breakfast was merely coffee and Danish, the toast was broke and the fruit consisted of oranges mostly.

Great stop on your way to/from Key West!

Posted 02-May-2016
Cons: Drinks are a bit pricey at the tiki bar, but well made.
Location: Location was perfect to break up our drive back from Key West. Island Grill was about a mile away and a nice easy walk for a great dinner.
We had stopped in Key Largo on our drive down and was disappointed with our hotel there. On the way back we changed up our plans and stayed here at Pelican Cove. BEST decision. The location was peaceful and beautiful. Everything was clean and comfortable. We were able to take out the kayaks with ease, and the property was beautiful. We opted for the ocean view room, and sitting on the balcony at dusk was perfect.

Pelican Cove Relaxing Getaway

Posted 26-Apr-2016 on Hotels
A lovely relaxing small resort in Islamorada. The room was very nice and clean. Took a nice dive into the clear waters and floated peacefully on a large raft. The staff was very nice, especially Tamara, the bartender. The only improvement would be in the quality of food.

Modern, clean rooms and friendly staff

Posted 25-Apr-2016 on Hotels
Spent 3 days here while fishing in the area. The hotel has recently been re-furbed, everything is new and to a good standard. Room was spacious, modern and spotless, plenty of light in the bathroom, loved the large mirror and powerfull shower. Unfortunately the maids missed our room tidy on the second night, I mentioned it at 4pm at reception when we came back but it still didn't get serviced, we were fine with it but its something that maybe does need looking at by hotel management. There are plenty of sunbeds to chill out and relax and Pelican Cove overlooks the sea, so relaxing and tranquill. We moored our boat while staying and Fred the activities guy was a real help, tying it up and giving us advice on 4 tides a night. Breakfast was ok, Continental but it could do with maybe a couple of hot options, bacon scrambled eggs etc they have cold hard boiled eggs but it a breakfast not a picnic or lunch with salad. There's not a lot to do at night in Islamorada, eat in a restaurant then bed by 10.30pm, there's only really 1 bar which is about 1000m away. The postcard bar/cafe/restaurant 5 mins away is ok but it shuts @ 10pm has a basic menu doing snacks til @9pm.

A Great Stay!

Posted 23-Apr-2016 on Hotels
We had an oceanfront king room w/balcony, which was perfect for the two of us. It is a very nice-sized room, not at all cramped. The bed was super-comfy, but, there was only one bedside table. The bathroom is quite nice, with a great shower (no tub), and the towels were great. There is a nice little bar with two stools, along with the fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, and a sink - which is really nice. We used the good-sized balcony, that has two chairs and a table, a fair amount - loved the ocean breeze, as well as watching the pelicans diving for fish. Our stay was far too short! We would definitely return, we had a great time!

Relaxing vibe

Posted 05-Apr-2016 on Hotels
The employees are great. Lydia gave us a warm welcome and shared the best places to eat. Fred was helpful in deciding activities and Gail made the best mojitos on the planet. The sliding door was loose so the wind seemed to howl at night, but overall, a great place to unwind.
