5 Star Treatment

Posted 15-Apr-2017
Pros: Everything.
Cons: More affordable meal options on property for families.
Location: Lots of local restaurants to enjoy.
The hotel exceeded my expectations before I even exited my vehicle, but it blew my wife and I away once we entered out beach front cottage! Fantastic room and unbeatable view. The staff was fantastic, the food was phenomenal and the quiet calm of the property was just what we were looking for. There were families there with kids and we really didn't notice them, because there are more than enough adult only spots to get away from kids, as well as tons of kid friendly activities for families. Loved the place so much that we will be coming back with our kids next time. The only thing that was, not negative, but eye opening on our first meal was the price of the meals on property. Could get pricy if you are concerned with that, but we we on vacations and didn't really, care and besides that there are A LOT of great local restaurants that you can venture off property to enjoy. Don't waste your time in Key West, just stop in Islamorada and stay at Checca!

This hotel is by far the nicest on the island. It really caters to fishing and tennis players so if you like those activities you cannot go wrong. The beach isn't a beach for swimming but the hotel keeps the chairs and sand area clean and neat all day. Staff are all super nice!

Top notch Resort

Posted 13-Apr-2017
Pros: The beach, the tiki bar, the adult pool and the Spa were all very nice. The rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. The hotel grounds were outsta
Cons: We had a little AC problem but the staff responded to our call quickly and solved the problem.
Location: Conveniently located to many outstanding restaurants, the Trading Post "grocery" store, Bud & Mary's marina and the Worldwide Sportsman Stpre
This facility is conveniently located in the center of Islamorada. The facility is probably the nicest in the area and we were pleased with the adult pool, spa, and beach area. While the beach is not really a shoreline to wade into, the area is first class. Comfortable chaise lounges are plentiful. The outside staff were very accommodating. Tiki bar was a fun place to stop off for a cocktail. The gardens are nice to walk though and the hot tub was a relaxing place in the evening.

Beautiful Ocean Views

Posted 10-Apr-2017
Pros: Beautiful scenery, pool areas and Tiki bar.
Cons: .Room price should be lower if rooms not kept up to par. Not sure if we would come back or recommend Cheeca to friends
Location: Great places to catch the sunset up and down the island
Our second time at Cheeca Lodge. The only main issue was that our room showed signs of wear. The sofa cushions were beat, sunk in as soon as seated and the sofa frame was uphosted in fafric and the cushions were old dirty leather.looked like it was a makeshift solution. Chairs in kitchen also showed wear and tear and also the arm chair with ottoman and coffee table have also seen better days. Thankfully we has gorgeous weather and did not have to stay in the living room. Amenities were plentiful and in good condition with the exception of the bicycles. Difficult to get bikes and bikes were not easily adjustable and tires should have adequate air in them. Doesn't seem that these issues are checked. Loved the Tiki Bar!

Perfect location

Posted 26-Mar-2017
Pros: Location and welcome
Cons: Option for a simpler room, without kitchen.
Location: Close to the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and very close to the Theater of the Seas.
The hotel is near many attractions and is lovely. The welcome was excellent, and our suite was lovely -- more amenities than we needed for an overnight stay (well-supplied kitchen).

staying in a out building -not main hotel

Posted 26-Mar-2017
Pros: nice pool - great ocean beach at main hotel -good breakfast
Cons: Install lights for walking to remote buildings .Let people know up-front that they have remote rooms not in main hotel .
When arranging for a room at Cheeca ,we had no idea that we would be staying in a remote out building . The building was good block and half away from the main hotel-no lights went walking after dinner .We were on the second floor -upon leaving after our stay the elevator was broken .We had to take our luggage down two flights of a narrow stairwell .There was no assistance at the out building .We probably could have called for assistance ,but who knows how long that takes .I feel the rooms through Expedia are the least desired it the hotel .
