Sarvario was AMAZING! He made us feel welcome and comfortable. If we needed anything to make our stay more comfortable, he got it for us. He gave us all the information we needed to know about transportation and finding the best spots to eat. This property was clean and smelled good. The gates were closed at certain times of the night so I guess that helps with security. It’s uphill so if you’re walking, you’ll definitely get those quad muscles without even trying 😂. It’s about 10-25mins of a walk from nice restaurants. It is a 5-7minw walk to bus stops on either side. Downside is: - if you’re not driving, it’s a long walk from the gate to the building entrance. - The ground all stones so if you’re wheeling a box, it’s even harder. - Breakfast buffet was hella expensive. - Mosquitoes are outside because it has natural vegetation (inside, they have a wallflower that smells great and repels mosquitoes), so you’ll be fine. In all, I’d stay here again!

The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, gave us good recommendations for restaurants and places to go. Breakfast was delicious! The hotel itself was average, not worth the price in our opinion. Our shower drain was clogged and water pooled in the corner of our bathroom. The walls are thin, we could hear other guests. It’s a beautiful property, but we probably wouldn’t stay again.

Beautiful villa- unfortunately rooms are poorly maintained. We tried showering and the water pressure was non- existent. The tub was poorly repaired. The room was overall staid. In addition, The hotel is not staffed 24 hours so if you need assistance there's no one there to help. I would never go back.

Florence is a beautiful city, and because of that it can get quite a bit crowded with tourists. Hotel Villa Betania was a welcome respite at the end of each day to take a break from all the crowds and relax in a quieter neighborhood that still offered many great restaurants, gelaterias and things to do. We can't say enough about how wonderful the entire staff was, from the front desk that helped us with all our questions, reservations, taxi and tour needs, to the wonderful person that made our breakfast every morning (we miss our freshly baked croissants and cappuccinos so much!). Thank you Villa Betania, for making our stay feel so much like a second home!

Nice, historic villa. Good sized rooms, everything worked but the air conditioner, which is very weak and could only get the temp from 28 to 27 after running for hours _ in the end we took our chances w the mosquitos and opened the window. Do not book this place when it is hot outside. A suggestion - a cheap $20 fan woukd have been great to have i the room. Also, mosquito nets should be installed on the windows, again, inexpensive but very useful when the AC does not work. Other than the AC not working, making for terrible discomfort when it's hot - the place is amazing.

Excellent Hotel Florence
Everything about this Hotel was Great !. Lovely Setting and 2 ways to walk into Town both providing a Great Walk with Great views of the City. Only a 10 minute Bus ride from the River in Florence. In my view much better than staying in the City Centre during the main season - May - October. The Staff were really friendly and Helpful. Breakfast Fresh and Fantastic !.

Hi! First and foremost the staff is excellent. Each staff member is personable, professional and helpful. They helped me to enjoy my stay and are the bees’ knees. Excellent! They are superstars!!!! The breakfast has a nice mix of protein and carbohydrates, which is the perfect way to start the day. The WIFI access is strong and consistent. My room was lovely. It occupied two floors and was clean. I loved the open layout and loft style, whereby my room was on the top floor. The bathroom was spacious with a deep tub and waterfall shower. Amazing! I have two major issues which relate to the structure and policy of the hotel. I was disappointed by the air conditioning; it was weak. The staff advised that it is central and can only be set by the computer. I asked that the air conditioning be increased and the computer system did not permit it. Nightly, I was uncomfortable with the temperature because the room was not refreshingly crisp; which is important after a hot day if touring and walking. At times the temperature was 26 degrees Celsius; which was uncomfortable. The room eventually cooled down but never to a refreshing temperature. Further the unit in my room made noise, which disturbed my sleep. Further, the reception opens at 8 am. The consequence is that the hotel does not offer an early call service. As someone who has previously erroneously set her alarm to PM rather than AM, I was disappointed that I did not have access to this alarm back up service.

What a pleasant stay at Hotel Villa Betania! Great location, friendly and accommodating staff, clean and beautiful room, very well maintained grounds and building, wonderful breakfast, and just enough distance to be in the city but away from the over crowded tourist foot traffic of city center. I highly recommend staying here.

Is an old hotel well maintained. Nothing really fancy but is cute and clean. Distance to the main attraction os a bit far but with a car is around 15-20’… Very happy about pur stay. When you know what you look for and how much you pay for it normally you are satisfied

Nice location. You can catch the bus in front of the hotel or if you are up for a walk its a beautiful and cardio heavy 30 minute walk to the sights. Offers a nice Italian breakfast buffet.

Easy parking and a 25 min walk to Ponte Vecchio. Always a comfortable place to stay. I have stayed here 5 different times for these reasons. Not close enough to walk to if you don’t have a car...for being worth the trade off. Never understood why they charge 5€ for parking, but it is their policy. Breakfast is standard, nothing extremely fancy, but includes a cappuccino or like drink along with bread, pastries, and juices. I would stay again if I had a car.

A kettle for boiling water will be appreciated.
Unlike most European hotels which provide a kettle for boiling water this hotel does not do so. The staff is nevertheless helpful in providing us with a porcelain pot, filled with hot water, and 2 cups. Thank you, but upgraded facility with a kettle will be appreciated.

lovely location, though need to be prepared to walk a bit. Good for Porta Romana route into town. Not much nearby though. Great walk into town via viewpoint over the city and easy public transport once you know what you are doing. Very helpful staff.

This place is amazing, and was a great deal in the off season. We paid €120 for a very nice room with a great big shower and a little private patio. The downside is being a long way from Florence’s attractions and restaurants. The closest place to eat was an 8 minute walk. If you have a car and want to be away from the madness of the tourist areas this is your place. VERY quiet.

Great little gem. Huge value for money.
Was a little disappointed with check-in. Receptionist wasn't particularly welcoming - rather, she gave us the impression we had been interrupting her "rest" as she wasn't even at the reception desk and we had to call to get her to come down to attend to us. The room was amazing and spacious. Bed was so comfortable and all in all the room was a dream. Annoyed that we had to go out in the rain to access our room (it was a superior double room), and amenities were very basic and not too pleasant. Breakfast was fine. We were charged for parking which wasn't made clear when booking. Otherwise great. Would definitely return.

Very happy with our stay at Villa Betania. Our room in the adjacent building was so spacious and comfortable. Some noise from the guests upstairs, but this wasn't the fault of the hotel, just inconsiderate people, you find them everywhere. Staff were very helpful, the local restaurant recommendations were fabulous, and the 25 minute walk into the centre of Firenze was a delight. We spent our first 2 nights in the centre and could not wait to get away from the crowds and the insanity! Villa Betania's grounds are a quiet, peaceful retreat but still within striking distance of all the attractions.

We only spent one night at Hotel Villa Betania and we were pleased with our time spent at the hotel. We had a short time to spend touring Florence and the front desk provided an excellent map with walk times, bus route numbers, and taxi cost information to help us choose how we would visit the city. Very helpful. The hotel is located in a quiet area. We are fast walkers and made it into the city tourist areas in around 20 minutes. Beds were good and the rooms were quiet - two important things for us. I would recommend the hotel for anyone visiting Florence.

Great Florence Stay
Very nice hotel in a great location. About a 20 min walk if you want to get to central Florence or a convenient bus stop is less than 5 min walk from hotel. If you have a car, very easy/accessible parking. Room was somewhat small(to American standards), but immaculate. Front Desk staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Hotel Villa Betania
Hotel Villa Betania is located on the outskirts of Florence city. The walk to or from the hotel can be quite a trek to the city centre, especially if it is very warm. Fortunately there is a bus service the number 11 which has a bus stop nearby and the ticket cost for a one way trip is €1.50 purchased from the Tabacchi or the hotel reception. Make sure you validate the ticket once on the bus. We also visited Lucca, Siena and San Gimignano. San Gimignano doesn't have a direct bus service from Florence, so a change of bus at Poggibonsi is required and you might have to wait for an hour for the next bus to San Gimignano. Our last day was spent in Pisa and we deposited our luggage at the "left baggage" area at the train station at a cost of €5 per bag. Florence is a great city for a taste of Tuscany, but next time instead of using it as a base to visit other locations, we will move from one location to the next. The food was good, but after a week we were longing for a change from pasta or pizza as everywhere in the city seems to sell the same food, so not much variation. Beware of the self service food outlets in the city as they are not as cheap as they appear on the menu. We paid the same price in a descent Trattoria as we did in the self service place which felt more like a glorified canteen. Final word of warning, if you do not have a bus ticket and the driver tells you he has none, get off the bus immediately or you will incur a hefty fine at your destination.

THE PROBLEM NO ELEVATOR VERY SMALL ROOM .WALKING DISTANCE TO CENTRE CITY ABOUT 25 MIN.WE STAY 2 NIGHTS WHEN WE CHECK OUT IM FORGOT MY SHORTS IN HANGER IN THE CLOTHES. WHEN IM CALL THE OWNERS TELL ME NOBODY FOUND .WE STAYED IN THE 3 FLOOR THE BBREAKFAST WAS OK NOTHING SPECIAL .IM DISAPPOINT ABOUT MY LOST
