The property must have had a sewer pipe burst because the entire lobby smelled like an open sewer. There were mechanics coming in and out. It took them over and hour after the 2pm check in time to give us our room.

Great location. Can walk from train to hotel. You are a low to walk to Duomo. Plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Great hotel for convenience and floors are tile so clean.

I liked that property was central, I did not have difficulties of noice which other experienced. The bathroom facilities are an accident waiting to happen. Got scolded in the shower the tap came of in my hand. Sitting on the toilet you could have played seesaw. Sinks took ages to empty. Nothing on this review that I did not express before leaving the hotel. I had to ask them to look at the bathroom several times while there.

The air conditioning was not working during our stay, which was the middle of Italian summer when the temperatures peaked at 40 degrees Celcius. We were not informed of this fact prior to check-in and thus had to endure an unbearable hot room which made it almost impossible to sleep.

The breakfast and location were excellent. The room clean. The windows were old and not curtains. So hard to allow the sun in if you want privacy. Also the noises from the street were really loud. I was in the first floor. Anyway the location is fantastic!

PROS: In terms of affordability, access to the major sights (galleries, museums, Duomo, etc.) and mobility around the region, you can’t do much better than this. Tram from the airport is a 5-minute easy walk; all of the group tours to Siena and Chianti are stationed 9 minutes away; the major train station SMN is 5 minutes. The staff is polite and helpful if you need things. CONS: The hardest bed I’ve ever slept in. If you’re a back sleeper, you’ll probably be fine. I am not and woke up with red marks on my body that turns to bruises from the bed. SECURITY: This is a very old property converted to a hotel and people fight with the doors constantly. My door lock didn’t even function and was bowed in like < as if broken in. I’m 5’10” and slim; the shower is very small, probably 3x3, so I was banging my elbows constantly. Only mentioning it for the sake of other tall travelers BREAKFAST: I wouldn’t recommend it. This hotel is 5 minutes from the Mercato Centrale; it would’ve been nice to have had a selection of fresh fruit rather than the canned pineapple/canned fruit cocktail on offer. You’re better off going across the street to the pasticceria instead. One of the breakfast room waiters asked for my number very unexpectedly, which made me uncomfortable. NOISE: On one night, the local youth were scream-singing outside my window from midnight to 2am. I admire their fortitude. Not the best for weary travelers, but again to be expected given the location. Thin walls

The service was amazing! Fra cesco was so friendly and accomodating. Melana was very kind and helped us print our flight info. And Sr. Maurizzio was kind enough to make us coffee while we waited for our taxi at 4:00 in the morning. The breakfast was abundant and delicious and the rooms very quante and charming! I highly recommend this place!

Excellent location - BUT
Travelling around the globe for the past 40+ years and stayed in different ranges of star hotels. This one is not a 4 star but a 1 at the most. Pictures are not true to the room. NO electrical outlets to charge your devices except for 1 which the mini fridge occupies. The positive thing above this hotel is its location to all the sights to visit, restaurants and the train station terminal. The front staff we're accommodating and polite. In summary, the daily rate for what is to be a 4 star hotel is over priced. If this hotel is renovated it would be an excellent choice due to its location. By the way we stayed 2 nights. This is my synopsis of the hotel understanding we all have our evaluating factors of a hotel.

Great hotel with the best location!
This was suggested by a friend while visiting Florence and I booked it because it looked closer to all the major tourist spots in the city! I loved my experience here - the hotel staff is lovely and accommodated to all my needs, including early checkin. The price was very affordable too. Restrooms were clean and it is located right next to good restaurants, leather market, a good hall and literally10 mins walking from Duomo! There’s a SIM card shop, tram station, train station and two bus stops right very close to the hotel . I couldn’t be happier with my stay in Florence. My only issue being it is old, but then most buildings in Florence are old! Highly recommend this hotel for a 3-4 day trip to Florence.

Good hotel bad service. It’s a trade off....
There with my mom. The hotel was overall nicely maintained but the service is no satisfying. I needed the fridge for my medicine but it wasn’t working. Front desk claimed I should have left card plugged in which I did. I hope my medicine was ok.... my cheese was al melt. Overall I liked the decoration but didn’t feel taken care of or cared about at all. Bad service.

Nice and cosy hotel, good breakfast included. We had a couple of not so nice nights when we couldn't turn the heater off and the room became vary hot to the point we had to open the windows for a while.

Great staff, good breakfast, too close the station and attractions. Unfortunately the room has some dust, needs a better clean and the bath chamber too small. Overall we had a great time there, good bed to sleep.

On the negative side: tiny room, very old hotel, dusty old draperies in room, small bed. On the positive side, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the breakfast (included in price) was quite tasty.
