Love the place! would stay here again next time. We got scammed by the apartment host in Milan! So I was very worried when I contact the host for this place regarding our possible late check-in after 9 PM, due to the delay of the train. But thank God! The host of this beautiful stay in Florence totally changed our impression on Italian people. When I contact the host about my late check-in, he offered detailed instructions with no additional charge at all, unlike the host in Milan. The room was clean and cozy, even though a little bit old. But after all, it’s an old building. So I can’t really complain.：）

We had a really lovely time staying with Sam and team. The B&B itself was comfortable and full of character. The area was reasonably quiet also. It was only a 20 min walk to most of the attractions Florence has to offer so very convenient. Sam was extraordinarily helpful, he provided us with many recommendations for things to do and places to eat. It was a lovely stay.

B&B Il Marzocco is the perfect place to stay if you want to be near the heart of Firenze! It's walking distance to everything, and closest to the train station (which we loved for our travels!). Sam and Angela go above and beyond in their charming ways to make your stay a true gem. Our room was perfect for a place to slumber and shower, and the daily breakfast included had a lovely variety to choose from (coffee machine for espresso/latte/etc./fruits/yogurts/musli/meats/cheese/bread/jams/tea/pastries). This B&B has a true Italian feel which made us feel we were staying more at a friend's home <3 Some reviews state that this place was in a noisy area-true, you can hear the traffic more than probably most places; however, that did not effect us whatsoever because my hubby and I love white noise (and we put on a fan noise to drown anything out). We definitely recommend this place and would stay here again! Grazie!

Very friendly and helpful care takers , they let us keep our luggage till evening even after checkout . Angela was so helpful to book our full day excursion with the local tour operators. Sam was super helpful and always available

Good location, just around the corner from main train station. Excellent customer service, kind reception and very good breakfast buffet. 10 minutes walk from old town and main attractions. Highly recommend for city break.

Well-appointed, immaculate, convenient, friendly
This B&B is on the second floor of a building about ten minutes' walk from the train station. There is a tiny elevator, which is helpful when you are carrying bags. The building is on the corner of two main roads, so expect a little noise. The room was small but comfortable and very well furnished. We had our own bathroom en suite, which felt like a great luxury after 10 days of sharing. Some amenities: a mini-bar, safe, and hair dryer. Breakfast, available from 8 to 10, was a typical Tuscan menu of ham, cheese, bread, pastries, fruit, and coffee or tea. The hosts offer cappuccino or espresso as well. Negatives: - The road noise, mentioned above. Bring earplugs. - We found the room stuffy. There probably was some ventilation, but we could not figure it out and were staying only one night so didn't get a chance to ask. Definitely something to ask about if your visit is in the summer. - One of the people manning the desk was fluent in English, but the other, who was there for most of our stay, had little English. He was friendly and tried to be helpful, but asking anything complex was difficult with our extremely limited Italian. Aside from these small drawbacks (maybe more about us than them?), this was a very nice place to stay and quite reasonably priced.

Lovely place, so friendly and helpful. Showed us the best way to get around Florence, and helpful hints. We were later checking in, but this wasn’t an issue and was staying to ensure we were able to check in later at night. Felt at home and will definitely be back! Thanks again!

We liked the location as it was a very manageable walkable distance to most of the sites. Also liked the large comfortable bed/bedding. Was also quiet at night and room was dark for good sleeping. Breakfast was good and typical Italian. They offer to make guests cappuccino or expresso too. Giorgio very nice manager. Only couple small things which were not 100% for us was we could not find any English TV stations out of many offered. Lastly, shower pulsed water which made taking showers little less than comfortable. All in all would stay here again.

This B & B was perfect for our stay in Florence . We wanted to be able to walk from the bus station with our luggage and be able to walk to the sights in Florence. The owner and staff are joy to work with and talk with about the area. It is really cute inside! We stayed in the smallest room for just two nights. It is very nice but would be too small for a longer stay. We had to catch a taxi to the airport at 3:45 A.M. and they booked that for us and got up to make sure all was good when we left!

We enjoyed our stay at B&B Il Marzocco. The room was clean and comfortable. Nice bathroom with a fantastic waterfall shower. Breakfast was okay, nothing too spectacular - good cappuccino though. It is a bit of a walk to get to the city center, but it's very close to the train station. Service was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The room and staff were fine. The hotel was on the wrong side of the tracks to be convenient to the sites, and for us it was a little bit scary to walk at night from the train station to the hotel. It was ok in the morning. It was difficult to get luggage up to the lift, and the foyer was poorly lit.

The b and b was very clean, the people were outstanding, the room was adequate, the bathroom was roomy and the breakfast was typical for Italy. The location was perfect as you were near the train station and in less than 15 minutes you could walk to the heart of Florence. The major issue was the air conditioning. The room could not be cooled sufficiently. I used a sheet for a bed cover and even that was too warm. There was no way to turn the AC to high for any length of time-it was on a timer and would go from high to low in just a few minutes. I do not recommend this location during the summer months.

Myself and my partner had a lovely stay at the hotel - from the great decor in our bedroom to the tasty breakfast we had each day. Service was really friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay again!

Good for overnight stay
Road construction between the train station and the B&B. Would be a fairly sort and easy walk otherwise. Our tours left from the train station and we took the train to Venice so the B&B was very convenient for us

A lovely authentic Florentine B&B
The hotel is super clean, has very friendly staff and is strategically located close to the train station. The rooms are decorated in old Florentine style and the breakfast covers all the essentials. Highly recommended!

Nice place in Florence!
My wife and I traveled by train from Venice to Florence to spent a couple of nights before going back to Rome. This place is a great and quiet place and of course it's a perfect choice if you're looking to save money. It's located 10 minutes walk to Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Comfortable bed, with A/C, nice bathroom and amazing Italian breakfast, make sure to have a cappuccino while you are there . It's one of these places where you feel part of the family. I will definitely be back next time I visit Florence.

The service was excellent, very helpful and cheerful. Warm welcoming and caring. Very clean and well maintained. Location of the B & B is very walkable distance and easy to walk around through the day and night.

No way this can be a 9.1 Hotels.com rating!
On the basis of the rating that appeared in Hotels.com and the advertised price, we booked three rooms for the night of August 5, 2016 for ourselves and two other couples. We were very disappointed by the fact that none of our rooms look remotely the way they appear on the website. Having traveled a lot, we know what to expect from a rating of 9.1. The rating of this B&B is grossly overestimated. It is not worth a rating of 8.0 and these rooms are certainly not worth the Euro 100 we were charged for each. To provide you with a comparison of pricing and quality, I would suggest you check the Porta Fenza Hotel (Hotels.com rating of 8.6 for a night at Euro 80), which offers much better amenities, room spaciousness and overall quality. The B&B Il Marzocco had very poor air conditioning, worn-out furniture, small beds and most unfortunately, one single staff who works only part time at the B&B and did not speak english... I wish I had taken pictures so as to show the contrast with what has been (obviously) erroneously posted! I would suggest Hotels.com reviews this facility. Also note that this B&B is located on the second floor of a very busy street in a much less inviting section of Florence than the cheaper and much better Porta Fenza hotel.

I respect all the opinions of our customers but I want to point out that the pictures of our B & B that appear on Expedia.com and Hotel.com are exactly like the reality. We received a lot of review, and no one ever said that the rooms do not correspond to reality. You could not see neither the services nor the quality of the breakfast nor the air conditioning, because after check in you saw the room and you said that don't like the room. Then you with your friends have gone away. Our rooms are described exactly for what they are including the MQ and the amenities. If you wanted a larger room was enough to book a different room type that logically it cost a bit more Cordial greetings

Nice B & B close to city center
We stayed for 8 nights at this hotel and it was a great experience! We would definitely stay here again. Massimo was very pleasant and helpful. Emo was also very nice. It is beautiful and very clean. Bed was very comfortable. It is just 2 or 3 blocks from Santa Maria Novella train station so it is a reasonable walking distance to the city center and all the attractions, very conveniently located.

This B&B provided a great experience. The location is very close to the train station and walkable to the City Centre, restaurants and museums. The two brothers that run this place are very sweet. The room was very nice - comfortable bed, nice bathroom and very clean. The daily breakfast was simple yet delicious. I would highly recommend staying here - If I every return to Florence - I would stay here again.

It was awesome. This is the place to stay if you are looking for friendly staff, clean and warm accommodations, great location and all for an amazing price. At check in the host did not speak English, but we managed. Very friendly and made great efforts to see that we had local information and that breakfast was satisfying. The bedding could have been better..spartan. Bathroom extremely small, but typical for Europe.

Wonderful B&B
Simply comfortable, tasteful and welcoming. Breakfast room is charming, bright and with a balcony. Breakfast was great with a real (not machine) cappuchino served by the host. The room is crisp, comfortable and has high ceilings. Bathroom is very up to date with quality tile work and fixtures. The whole place is tastefully updated; nothing plastic!!! The staff -- the front desk and maid are professional and very personable. Stay here, you'll sign the guest book with a smile, as we did; and will again when we are back in Firenze. Don't be fooled by the exterior of the building: very understated. Once you re off the elevator and at the reception you'll be very, very satisfied.

Fantastic Hotel
We had a really great time in Florence and this hotel made it for us.Really helpful, friendly, attentive and welcoming owners and staff.The hotel was spotless, the room was cleaned every day, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom had a lovely, shower had a rain shower head and the room was nice and quiet. We both slept really well. The breakfast was lovely with a great variety of food and dinks,and cappuccinos made to order, piping hot. I would not hesitate to stay here again and will definitely recommend to all our family and friends.
