Perfect weekend getaway

Pros: excellent staff, good facilities, comfortable rooms
Cons: breakfast could improve
Location: very close to the Pacific Harbour arts village
the resort is perfect for a weekend getaway if you live in Suva or surrounding area. there is a long stretch of sandy beach, perfect for relaxing and swimming. the spa is very nice, highly recommend the sugar scrub treatment followed by a massage!

Cons: Water temperature of the shower in room is not that stable though acceptable.
Easy to go to Beqa island for snorkelling. Free Kayak tour is interesting.

Beautiful Location

We had a lovely time at the Pearl, the staff were just so friendly and very helpful. We went for a lovely walk into the local craft village. I would return again, as the location was excellent with lots to see and do or just relax by the water and pool.

Nice hotel and beautiful scenery although the hotel staff and overall experience being a guest outweighs the pros. We were here close to two weeks and could never seem to get bath towels or additional blankets. The staff does everything at their own leisure and doesn't care about how long you must wait. The food in the restaurant wasn't good at all and they were always out of everything. The wifi and breakfast is not free at this hotel and you don't know that until you get there or checkout, also, be aware of the charges when you check out, we were being charged breakfast for days we weren't even there! The hotel does offer different day to day activities with many costing which is normal although playing pool here was always a struggle with the staff, first it was open but later in the week they began taking the balls and keeping them and only letting one set out at a time which was strange since we were the only guest using the pool table all week. As nice as this hotel is scenery wise I wouldn't stay here again and was fooled by the reviews other people left. My hotel room was in the older part and my bathroom always had a terrible smell coming from the drain, there was also a frog in my room which nobody ever came to remove. The beds are not comfortable at all in the wing I was in. One nice thing is the air conditioning. If it wasn't for the air conditioner I would've checked out.

The hotel has two wings and older out of date wing in need of overhaul and a new modern clean crisp wing. The rooms are small, the layout of the bathroom wet areas etc is 'different', food is good, breakfast could be improve, just because it's low occupancy and off season shouldn't mean the breakfast service differ

Partly renovated

I have stayed at the Pearl many times. This was my first stay since the renovations. Part of the hotel is renovated and unfortunately our room was on the old side. The old side is quiet and the old reception smelt dank. Reception to check in is on the new side where we could barely understand the man checking us in when he said "Pre Auth" meaning Pre Authorisation however mentions out of context which made checking in confusing. Reception didn't mention anything about wifi, breakfast, facilities or inclusions which was annoying Pool was over crowded and heavy with chlorine. The old side had no phone at reception which ment we had to walk back to reception in the rain when our key didn't work to let us in the room. Reception didn't apologise and reset the key saying "it should work NOW"..only for me to initiate what the resolution would be if the key didn't work again as we would not walk back again in the rain and that there was no phone to call. Long story short we had to hang around and wait to get maintenance in as the key still didn't work

Very good resort

Pros: Location and cleanliness. Very friendly staff
Cons: Slightly cheaper meals, better in house movie...............which is getting change as advised by Jenny
Location: Limited shops and other so call restaurants close by,but quality is 2-3 star at best. Plenty of tours, activities etc but very expensive.
My wife and I spent Christmas and New Years Eve 2016 at this resort. Everything about the resort was very good. Jenny the customer relations manager was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for her. The rest of the staff was very good as well. The only thing stopping me giving them a five rating was the pricing within the resort.............the quality of the food and service was very good but the pricing was a little high. I would however expect this to be the case at all other resorts. I would suggest not hiring a car because there is not much to see outside resort, outside areas pretty average. Suggest getting a up-market bus (they are around and you need to search for them) from Nadi airport to resort, about 2 hr journey. 5 -7 days max stay is the limit for this area.

Over priced, unsafe and unreliable resort.

Pros: The Guest manager Jenny was great - she did switch our room and tried to solve the pool issues and is assisting w the ongoing theft investigation.
Cons: Close the pool to the locals!Not safe nor appropriate. Actually have proper kids club with actual activities on time not just ad hoc or at random time
Location: The beach is dirty and has lot of rubbish but there is apparently a golf course and other guests enjoyed the scuba diving.Very overpriced food!!
We had planned this for a long time and were expecting to have a wonderful family holiday and babymoon over the Christmas period. What a bad experience we were in for.At arrival at 11pm we were met with a night portier with quite bad English that didn't really understand us.He tried to charge our credit card for special bond and then refund it at the end of the stay -then offered "special price" by reducing it to half price?! We managed to stop him and after 30 min of issues we finally got our room.It was quite small comparing to pics we seen and it was dusty and smelled of toilet.Wasnt set up properly for 4.Had to call to get towels and glasses etc.Shower water was brown and smelly and in the morning we realised we had a view of the back garden ie the maintenance staff hangout by some bins and where they had their smokes and breaks.The balcony was covered in bird poo on the furniture,walls and a hole in the roof where there was a birds nest with squawking chicks and a constant worm feeding and the roof leaked so everything on the balcony got drenched.After 2 days a dead bird fell out of the nest and the bugs came along.The pool area is quite run down w rusty nails in the pool and the edges cracked,sharp and my kids cut their feet several times.The locals can use the pool so at any given time the only pool was full of local loud,rude young men hitting on my 7&8 girls and agrressive local kids.Scary.Kidsclub non existing and we had valuables stolen from our room.List goes on..

Great location but horrible service

Front desk tried over charging me. House keeping was harassing my family that they needed to leave even after we had paid the extra fee for a late check out. Not cool. Hopeless unfriendly front desk staff. But some of the waitresses and the porters were friendly and helpful. They don't deserve my business at all.
