Before booking the villa we ensured that we looked at photos, checked amenities, and most importantly checked reviews. The reviews go years back so we were confident booking, but after arriving it was clear that maintenance has not been carried out on the villa over the years. Therefore, we do not feel it is worth the price.
Pros: good location (hill is steep so probably would not recommend for anyone who may struggle with this), garden is fairly intimate, working washing machine, good fridge/freezer and gas hob, good wifi, good A/C.
Cons: when we arrived there were dirty towels left in the washing machine, and all the ‘clean’ towels on the beds smelled like damp/sweat, so we had to wash all of the towels when we first arrived. The bathroom was also filthy, showers were disgusting and full of black and yellow stuff, maybe mold? Floors were filthy also and turned your fleet black, they had clearly not been cleaned. Everything in the kitchen was also pretty filthy, pots and pans with old food on them, the kettle full of limescale and unusable- had to boil a pot for hot drinks (this was all very disappointing considering cleaning fees). We sent pictures to property management and their response was ‘try to chill and enjoy your holiday’ - not the response we wanted, we felt our concerns were not being taken seriously. They sent back two cleaners who had two bottles of bleach and some rags, they did a shoddy job of bleaching the showers then left. No other cleaning was done, again disappointing considering cleaning fees. The dishwasher is on its last legs, door is broken, nothing comes out clean. Most disappointing for us is probably the misleading ad, stating a ‘whirl pool’, there is no such thing in the villa, just a regular pool with two small sections each side and regular jets like any other pool would have. There were other missing amenities too- ad stated there was a grill on the balcony and there wasn’t.
This villa is more expensive than others in the area, we were happy to pay this as when comparing the ads it seems this villa had much better amenities (and we assumed they would be in good condition). It was therefore disappointing to find that there were missing/unusable amenities. The ad (in our opinion) is very misleading, beware of the wide lense camera because it makes everything look bigger than it is, especially the garden. Overall we would not stay in the villa again.
