I was travelling solo and thought I'd fit in a little luxury along the way, but I found that the resort was more suited to families and couples in general so would probably stay in a different hotel if alone next time, only because there were no other solo travellers as far as I could see.
Saying that, the staff were absolutely delightful, and I felt like I was given extra assistance because I was alone. I found all staff from reception to housekeeping very helpful.
I was ill on my second day there (due to fatigue more than anything else), and the nurse called up the taxi driver she uses to take me to the hospital, who waited with me until I'd seen the doctor. Anybody that's ended up in hospital on their holiday will know how scary it can be so I was very grateful that he was there.
On my return from hospital I received a call from the Duty Manager to find out if I was ok, which again was very thoughtful.
The rooms are spacious, clean and airy, although the adjoining rooms have pretty thin walls, which is great if you're a family with your kids next door, but not so great if you don't know or want to hear your neighbours! I was swiftly moved to another room on request though so no further complaints there.
Catherine and Surjit in particular provided outstanding service, and I will definitely be returning to the hotel on my next family holiday.
"Nice seaview, hotel close to beach & comfy hotel"
I had a nice stay with my family in this hotel. One of the staff at the reception was kind enough to tell us no need to get extra bed for my son as the deluxe bed can comfortably sleep 2 adults and my 10 year old son. That I safe 3 nights extra bed! The room is spacious. I would suggest the management to get a technician to do a routing check on all electrical points and lightings. The room that I stayed, one of the electrical points was out of order and entrance light bulb was out! As for the bathroom, upper soap holder near the bathtub seem didn't clean for a while! Overall, the room and the hotel is fine.
We arrived on the eve of a local holiday (Deepavali) and the hotel was quite full and abuzz with families. The general manager and staff were all very welcoming and helped make our stay a pleasant and enjoyable one with helpful suggestions of places to visit (including a challenging hike to the remote Turtle Beach at the nearby national park), getting around on the local buses (Rapid Penang), etc. A visit to the older areas of Georgetown is definitely recommended - the mix of people and cultures makes Penang a colorful destination and a pleasing experience.
We stayed in the triple room which was good to accommodate our needs. The shower was superb, water pressure was such that you would certainly enjoy after sweaty day exploring Batu Ferringhi. There were ample parking around the hotel.
Extended my stay from 4 days to 14 days simply because it was quiet and accessible to Georgetown using the 101 bus. Breakfast was pretty basic but didn't starve and the beach was only 5 minutes walk away.
Located on the coastal road northwest of George Town, Batu Ferringhi Beach is one of the most popular spots on Penang, a fact reinforced by the presence of major hotels and resorts. Besides the world-class beach, tourists are drawn to the lively nightlife, highlighted by the Batu Ferringhi Night Market, a sidewalk bazaar that features hundreds of stalls selling food, souvenirs, and goods.
