I can normally find something negative to say about a hotel but not this one. From the moment we checked in everything was great. Great location, friendly staff, room cozy and comfortable, nice size rooms. The food was excellent. We didn't book a river view room and wish we had but that was our fault. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back.

Everything was absolutely fine nice and clean, only problem was the heating wasn’t working so it was a little chilly but I do like a hot room. So maybe fine for everyone else.

Although we do try our best to make sure the rooms are warm for arrivals, some guests may prefer a warmer room. Extra heaters and blankets are available by request if needed. Very comfortable bed and room. Staff very nice. Forgot to ask for more tea bags and milk. Could have done done with a little extra to allow up to 3 drinks each.

Clean and professionally run hotel with well equipped room and easy parking. Didn’t have breakfast as it was just a convenient overnight stay before an early morning flight. Will definitely use again.

Staff excellent, efficient and friendly. Meals excellent, well presented and filling. In process of swapping from gas central heating to electric air conditioning, substitute electric heaters worked well, if the thermal cut outs were a little noisy. Bathroom sink cracked but not leaking.

Great hotel. The staff were all very friendly and accomodating, the room was decent and comfortable. The only downside to our stay was that the heating system had failed and under maintenance. We were given a tiny electric heater which did not give enough heat output. Overall it was still a great experience.

Currently, we are undergoing a changeover from gas to electric in our pursuit of greener energy. In September, we completed our installation of solar panels all along the rear pitched roof, and we are currently awaiting the installation of air con to utilise this electric. In the meantime, please excuse the plug-in heaters we are using to solve the issue of heating. Hopefully we can look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Great hotel and location for a short break. Restaurant very accommodating with dietary issues both at breakfast and evening meal. First visited over 20 years ago and continue to use the hotel when we’re in the area.

It was a nice touch to have 24 hour reception coverage… reassuring should you require anything out of hours. The toilets in the public areas were Spotless, did cheat on occasion and use the Disabled Toilet situated on the Ground Floor as it seemed a Lifetime to go upstairs and along the corridor to the main toilets.

Very disappointing ending to my stay
Would have been a very pleasant 2 night stay if it hadn’t have been for the way I was treated at breakfast on the final day. Made to feel very uncomfortable by the head chef ‘Hussain’ I believe is his name, purely because I only wanted coffee and toast, which I had been given without problem the previous morning. The way he made me feel, talked to me and then stood watching me with his arms folded means I will not be returning. Shame because as a family we have used the Bridgehouse on many occasions including hiring out the riverside room. Not in future!

Lovely stay, the staff were all welcoming and pleasant. Just one suggestion, a handle needs to be put on the wall by the bath. When you have a shower it would assist getting in and out of the bath. Other than that is was a lovely stay and food was very good.

The restaurant and service was good. However the skirting boards in our room we're pretty dirty and had not been wiped in a while and there were cobwebs from the headboard of the bed to the wall. There were also a lot of cobwebs between the ceiling and curtain pole. The grouting around the shower was dirty and the bath chipped/marked in a couple of places. The mixer shower knob was also seized.

We are however very sorry that the cleanliness of your room was not up to our usual high standards; whilst we do endeavour to remove all cobwebs and spiders from the rooms during cleaning, due to our proximity to the river unfortunately spiders do make their way in, which can at times lead to cobwebs in the rooms. Really nice hotel
Lovely staff especially in the restaurant, food was excellent quality & reasonably priced, could not fault. Room comfortable & good size although traffic could be heard through the double glazing as room was at the front on the hotel. Terrace overlooking river was lovely.

Shower was a bit problematic in the room that i booked. I fell in the bath tub cause of soap residue left from the last occupants (tells me it wasn't cleaned properly) left with a sore bum. During shower i realised the problem, blockage down the drain, leaving soap residue once you're finished. I tried my best to rinse it to leave it free of slippery soap residue. At checkout i informed the receptionist about the issue and i hope the next occupants didn't have a similar incident
